I found Video to Video Converter to be very easy to use thanks when I wanted to remove a scene and replace it with a higher quality version.
Detailed steps: 1) 'Tools > Split Video' 2) 'File > Load Source File' 3) Click to the scenes you want to keep on the video progress bar. Use the '[' button to mark the start of your clip and ']' to mark the end of your clip 4) Click 'Add Segment' for each clip you've defined 5) When you've finished defining sub-segments, click "OK" 6) Select output format you want (e.g. MP4) 7) Back on the main window, hit the "Convert" button to encode just these segments as new video files 8) Then, back to 'Tools > Join Video Files' and 'Add' your new video files 9) Put them in the right order (use red up and down arrow buttons to change order) 10) Hit 'OK' 11) Select preferred output format 12) Back on the main window, hit the "Convert" button to create your final new video Magic [EDIT: Clarified specific steps above] Last edited by Jamie_KillUs; September 26th, 2020 at 01:56 PM.. Ah yes, the most complex question in home computing! Which video editor to use? Here's what I've found after going through a lot of software (rejecting Corel, AVIDemux, and many others) & doing a LOT of video editing.
Best Choice: Lightworks Not too complex, but you may want to watch their free tutorial videos on YouTube first. Everything is done via right-click, but it's easy to split & join clips. The free version has most features you'll ever need, but the only catch is that it only outputs MP4. Has some intermediate to advanced features, such as cropping (for getting rid of those annoying crawls: "This video was uploaded to Crap********.com", etc.), decent easy-to-add titles (no overlays necessary), sequencing (setting aside cuts away from the timeline for later addition), and photo panning (where a still is given the illusion of a camera panning across it, the so-called Ken Burns effect). It does occasionally add artifacts like weird ghost frames on transitions and red & green lines on the far sides of the video, as it doesn't handle low-quality video or VHS rips well at all. But, if you're working with the clips that you find around here, and are either trying to make something semi-professional looking on the back end, or just do more than one join or one cut, but still easily & quickly, it's the only choice. Best of all, it works on Windows, Mac, & Linux. Best Utility Player: Handbrake Converts everything, without the need for adware or screwy web sites. Also, cuts down to a single clip, but doesn't join videos. Finally, it's available on all desktop platforms & is free. Great to use with Lightworks if you're not needing an MP4 video at the end. Best Easy Software on Windows, but costs about $50: Nero This is my goto for quick Windows cutting & joining, and works so quickly and smoothly; I bought 1 copy 10 years ago, and am still using it today. It has paid for itself many times over in avoided frustration. Best Linux Choice: KDENLive This one is similar to Lightworks, is harder to use, but it is still free & excellent for quick cutting & joining. There is a Windows & a Mac version, but the ports are quite lacking. You may wish to try it in Windows, and if your use case is simple enough, it will work fine, but for transitions, cropping, etc., it's a challenge. |

Davinci Resolve by BlacMagicDesign. You can do most anything with this video editing application plus it's cross platform and free. The company has it's main source of income with hardware related to video production etc.
It could have a steep learning curve for some people if you are not farmiliar with this type of workflow. https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/uk/...avinciresolve/ Last edited by bigfun31; August 20th, 2020 at 10:25 AM.. Reason: Typo! |
