No, they don´t. This would mean that all (direct-)linked files being posted here at VEF would cause the same negative effects of removal or non-accessability.

I know of numerous, very valuable contributors of that Forum who have stored hundreds of files at MF, deriving from years back.

They are all accessable freely, none has been vanished. This can´t be a coincidence.

Not to forget all the contributors who have been explicetely advised/encouraged by Mods to use this host some months back and have made good experiences with it.

There have been cases on other filehosters (Oron) in the past, where people could download trouble-free from this country, whereas files/access was blocked from other countries (IP-issue). Has this been checked with MF already?

There aren´t too many reasonable hosters left meanwhile...

I express my hopes that VEF doesn´t turn to encourage people to use cash-hosts in future. These unpleasant experiences of breadposters flooding the Forum should have been lesson enough.

My original post was worded incorrectly, what I should have said is that Mediafire will eventually end up on our banned host list if they keep removing files. Apologies for the misunderstanding.

We appreciate that some members have hundreds of files uploaded with them, and if they get deleted it could take months to reuup them again. Any members in this situation can PM a Mod to work out a solution.

But as long as there are active files on the Forum it will be an allowed host

Either way its all pointless conjecture and speculation

That filehosts are targetting forums is a given
I suspect the main way their finding them is via volume of downloads

They stopped polish outfit files tube from indexing their links back in April according to Torrent freak
That site was the busiest search engine for filehosts bar none...a top 10 most visited site

They started targeting the places that used them the most - thousands of blogs and have only just started looking towards the forums - where mediafire has always been used sparingly until just recently

That their targetting planet suzy is a given and easy to understand why
It became a REQUIRED HOST along with 2 other hosts in their highest volume area.

As such mediafire links on planet suzy appear dead and removed due to violations when many are actually alive - cut and past them into a new tab and you will see

Thats not the case on VEF

I'd guess because our modern section is not open to google indexing
or the volume of hits from VEF on mediafire overall dont rate on their radar YET.

Eventually they'll come through here but there are a lot busier forums for them to concentrate on.
George is right about one thing - using non-porn titles and adding something extra to an upload will make it last a lot longer than being open and in your face as I was with my small account of 114 files which just got wiped but not closed

I wonder if editing the name of the file might help-you know taking out words like sex, porn or other and/or not putting a description. I might try that and see if that makes any difference. It seems to me that they must access your account and look at what is on there otherwise how can they possibly know what the content is-unless you are stupid enough to describe it in detail or label it with those provocative words.

I've been 'encoding' my uploads since I started. Typically, reducing the folder name to abbeviations, password protecting and resizing/rescaling files.

IE 'Holly Gibbons-OO2802 sg' would become 'HolG 802 sg'
'Faye Taylor, Syren Sexton 062712' would be FayT SyrS 062712'
I also often change the folder name from what it was originally before even zipping it

I've never had any MF links deleted (although I haven't used MF much lately). So far as I know, all my MF links still work (most over a year old). My MF account is showing 57 gigs used with several hundred files.

None of my old links on MF were password protected as it wasn't allowed for free users. Doesn't seem to be the case anymore as I have been able to upload password protected files.

Part of the problem is that Paypal is starting to block payments to file host sites unless they comply with a rather draconian list restrictions including PAYPAL being able to check and insist on the removal of files. Lot of complaints there regarding privacy...

I don't pay for mine being there I use the free service and I have about 130 files, of which 5 have been deleted but so far it has been quiet-Being american they can delete stuff during the night when I am asleep and I only find out in the morning or afternoon. It has been quiet but I don't trust them an inch.
