great idea
i am also a big tv and film music fan collating lots of 1970 tv programme and film tunes
i also have a vhs of a fairly unknown film starring Bobby Astor/ Astyr called ''the making of Eloise'' or something with Eloise in the title. There is some interesting music on it if anyone else knows it and can identify it. i went to the Science Centre in Toronto once whilst on holiday there and they were playing the same music in the space area so it must be a common theme tune regards Phikel |

re: Mr Bungle's question
I'll bet you're thinking of Sleepy Shores (mentioned by chris_izzy in reply #7) by Johnny Pearson -- a staple of easy listening format radio for years, it has indeed been used in many East Coast productions (and I remember the commercial -- it was a beauty soap product, girl in a metal victorian-era bathtub, aired late 60's early 70's).

The main theme music to 'Wanda Whips Wall Street' by British composer and arranger Alan Tew had previously appeared as the introduction to the Charley Farley and Piggy Malone serial ' Stop, you're killing me!' in the BBCs 'Two Ronnies' show in 1977. I think it was issued as 'The Detectives' on a BBC LP.
Johnny Pearson's 'Sleepy Shores' turns up in a number of porn movies including 'The Legend of Lady Blue'. It was originally composed for a long forgotten BBC serial 'Owen MD' and actually reached No 8 in the charts in 1971. I wonder if these guys received any royalties when their work ended up in various fuck films! |
