Watching 2018's pilot episode of Yellowstone, this actress playing a senator (simpatico to the Indian nation) came onscreen. One may see she has gotten on in years, but it's no less clear she was once a babe, if not still. She must'a been really something when younger; so who the heck was she?


Note her form, from the back; very nice. She also didn't button her blouse all the way to the top, which is very significant, as may soon be seen.

Turned out to be Jill Hennessy, of course (otherwise, what would we be doing on this VEF thread devoted to her?), and a trip to her IMDb page revealed that she has been in the racket for over three decades, meaning I (and probably you) have seen her in a wide variety of films and television shows, although in my case, she didn't impact me enough to make a note of her.

So I went through the thread. assured (and perhaps a tad smug) in my belief that surely in all of this time, the lady must have buckled down and made the "nudity concession." The signs weren't good from the thread's first page:

Yep, that was Post #3, in his post wittily entitled, "A lil' Jill," and Member "Caboosier" already repeated a photo that was presented in Post #1 by the one who began the thread in 2008, Member "JeffThrow." What this implied was that the revealing views of this actress were so bleak, the leggy shot may have practically been all there was. You may see in the last post above (post #45), Member "Sonnet" also resorted to the same legginess, while graciously informing where the photo originated from, and also adding more views from the set. (It was very important to add these extra views, since there is practically nothing else out there.)

The odds went from glum to catastrophic, when I came upon Member "Lyle134"'s Post #12 from 2012. I realized his photo (at left above) revealing not only the legs but a bit of tease on the top, may possibly be the sexiest image this lady has allowed herself to be caught in. The source was identified as TV Guide, which meant we were really in trouble, if the family-friendly publication is one of the very few places we were going to get acquainted with the woman's sex appeal. Lyle134 also asked for a "Better HQ Version," and although his wish was from ten years ago, I am such a Mother Teresa-type that I went about to see what I could do. Although I failed (please don't rub it in), I am putting up the second photo (at right above, with the sometimes annoying Jerry O'Connell), and at least we may learn the source was Crossing Jordan.



It was this 2001-2007 television show that probably allowed for Jill's widest exposure (sigh! Did I have to use that word?), not counting her stint on Law & Order which also widely "exposed" her from 1993-1996, as she played an impulsive medical examiner who was "smart" and "sexy," as may be read on the poster above. (She was once fired from the job, as she couldn't help her impulse to solve crimes. I'm learning about all of this now, since I never watched the program.)

so seriously, as if they are tough and are to be reckoned with?

Her character was named Dr. Jordan Cavanaugh, and as you may see how the ones behind the program were big on wordplay (see above poster's "every body," instead of "everybody"), and since one meaning behind the Biblical phrase "Crossing the Jordan" is "a turning point on the way to freedom," I suppose "Crossing Jordan" gave the idea that once she solved the crime, there would be freedom. But it doesn't make sense, since "crossing" someone means you're getting on that person's bad side, which may connote that you don't want to mess with Dr. Jordan, since she means business. While my intellectual capacity can't figure this one out (just looked it up, and one explanation was that her character is "commonly shown as 'crossing' others (especially authority figures to learn what she wants to know)": but wait a minnit; the title implies she is not the crosser, but the one who is being crossed), one thing is for sure; coming across the lady playing Jordan, or "Acrossing Jordan," with at least a little bit of skin may well be a lost cause.

So when Member "Bluevapor" put up a bunch of shots from Maxim magazine in his Post #40 from 2017, I thought we hit at least a little bit of paydirt. While Maxim discouraged against nudity unlike Playboy of old, the whole reason for Maxim's existence is to show off the sexiness of women. So when Jill Hennessy agreed to pose for Maxim in 1997, she must have "compromised" at least a little. Right? When I saw the thumbnail above from a distance, I thought, finally! Jill took it off! Yeah, sure, she didn't really reveal any of the "good parts," but at least she was cool enough to show herself off the way every woman was meant to be seen, for God's sake. Yet seconds later, I realized she was wearing that sort-of "flesh" colored dress, so was I fooled. (Despair can lead to not thinking straight, I tell you. In fairness, I am adding the second photo from the presentation, since Jill "put out" in that one, as only Jill can.)

In his Post #11 from 2011, Member "Pasman" referred to a "shower scene" from Crossing Jordan, but the image was too dark for anything to be made out. So I had to go on the hunt, in the quest for Jill Flesh. ("Till we get to see more Jill"?? Pasman, it has been nearly a dozen years. There is no "more Jill"!)

She's casually humming a tune and then after undressing in the locker room, takes a shower and steps out, and then turns around to see this brawny and imposing fellow staring at her. She doesn't bat an eye, and neither does the interloper, who has the good sense not to look away. He knew this was an extremely rare, if not nearly impossible, opportunity to catch Jill in the buff. What gets me, however, is that Jill makes no effort to cover herself up, nor feels any inclination to scream. She is perfectly comfortable with having a stranger eye her most intimate areas. So why the hypocrisy? Why has Jill not extended the same courtesy to more strangers? (Like me?)

When Jill got older, at age forty, she felt a tiny bit more comfortable with allowing what's underneath to be shown, but only barely. Compounding matters, the scene from 2008's Lymelife (exploring two dysfunctional families, with Jill playing a trapped suburban housewife to Alec Badwin; Jill earned high marks for her performance) involves a smoke alarm going off, which means the smoke blurs whatever little there is to be seen. (They say, "Where there's smoke, there's fire." Where the heck is the fire, with Jill?)




When younger, according to her filmography, the emphasis was on the movies. There were brief forays into television, as when she appeared four times on Friday the 13th: The Series, from 1989-1990. Jill Hennessy was in her very early twenties, holding the promise she felt freer to put her wares onscreen, at least somewhat. Roles such as "Spanish Hooker," "Vampire Woman," and "Lifeguard" hold promise there may have been some flesh on view.

As I said, we still may pin hopes on "Spanish Hooker," "and "Lifeguard."

Naturally, movies are not bound as much by the usual TV censorship, so digging into her motion picture body of work may produce results (although I don't think so). She was, for example, in Robocop 3 (1993):




Views from three films in her "older" stage, diminishing the nudity returns, were Luck (2011) and The Blacklist (2013), where we may consider ourselves to have luck, in both cases, while being permitted to see her bare arms, followed by Jill playing the mother of the troubled character in 2017's horror flick, Don't Sleep:

The actress, who has also dabbled in singing and songwriting, was also in Exit Wounds (2001), an action film that appears to deliver, starring Steven Seagal. Jill plays his "tough as nails" commander once Steven, not one to follow the rules, is transferred to the most dangerous and crime-riddled precinct in the inner city. Once I read from an IMDb commenter that Jill showed "miles of cleavage," I sensed a highly uncommon opportunity, and then after digging up the film, came up with these frame grabs:





Where's the cleavage? There is a scene in a club where the waitress bends down, serving as the last photo. Now that's cleavage. Didn't the stupid filmmakers know this?




In his Post #16 from 2011, Member "DTravel" provided ten screen caps (one above has been reworked) of Jill appearing as one of the "Escort Twins from Dead Ringers (1988)," along with sister Jacqueline. This is how I learned that since Jacqueline was an identical twin, if Jacky was more generous in her screen career, we could make up for the "Jill flesh deficiency." We could simply pretend that Jacqueline was Jill. (Dead Ringers served as Jill's screen debut, when the Canadian thespian — the horror film was a Canadian-U.S. co-production, directed by Canadian David Cronenberg — was twenty-years-old.)

The sisters once had an act, and it was called "Jack and Jill" (a far superior example of wordplay, compared to, say, "Crossing Jordan"). They look so alike, Jacqueline filled in for sis in a 1996 episode of Law & Order, because Jill had another commitment, and viewers were reportedly unable to tell the difference. At any rate, Jacqueline's screen career was very short-lived, meaning the Hennessys have most likely escaped sharing their sweetnesses for posterity, forever.
