I may not like the laws they are paid to enforce, like in this case, I think drinking on the beach is fine, heck, in France, in the 70's, they gave us 8-9 year old kids wine with our school lunches, and then let us run it off playing soccer.
I don't like the laws that got Tommy Robinson arrested, either.
Maybe they should have approached him later, and had a little chat, instead of following orders and procedures? He wasn't drunk in public or carrying (gasp!) a swiss army knife.
Glass houses, etc.

We will never get the real truth but I never indicated there was any issue with the legality of the actual arrest, the rules regarding underage drinking are different in the States. I have been drinking since I was 13 and have never been in any bother.
I just questioned the wisdom of those involved. Mind you in a world where trigger-happy cops often shoot and kill unarmed civilians I guess she got away lightly.

It has been going on for far too long and well done to Ed Sheeran for being one of those big names helping bringing the issue back into the headlines. Those profiteering vermin who used to grab loads of tickets and re-sold on Ebay and other sites are slowly losing that revenue source.

Shame it was not shut down by HMG and Trading Standards many years ago

Because it's now possible to discuss what happened in a little more detail and we have a better idea of what took place, the stupidity and arrogance of this man, who was pretending to be some kind of a bona fide reporter is quite astonishing. Perhaps there is a case to relax some of our laws concerning freedom of speech, but Robinson had already run into serious trouble over contempt of court issues and continued to think he was above UK law, which he clearly understood. To be putting out live Internet reports of this sensitive case, was totally mad and that's why the judge decided to teach him a lesson.

Talk about not knowing how to work the system, this was crazy, amateurish nonsense, although you have to wonder if he actually got the result he wanted by being put in jail.
