P.S. Others of mine include Charlie Dimmock, Stephanie Courtney, and Sarah Palin. The reason for the guilt or reluctance to admit a crush on them is: Pelosi (age/pretentiousness), Dimmock (brawn), Courtney (chattiness), and Palin (stupidity).

I realized that some people may not be familiar with Stephanie Courtney. She's better known as Flo, the neurotically peppy chatterbox in those annoying commercials for Progressive auto insurance. Also, fans of Mad Men might have noticed her when they managed to tear their eyes away from Christina Hendricks and January Jones long enough (she has a recurring character on the show). I don't know what it is, but there's something about overly bubbly women that won't shut up that appeals to me, even though they are often as annoying as they are attractive. It's strange. Others I can think of that fall into this category for me are Paige Davis (Trading Spaces), Caroline Rhea (Biggest Loser), Kathie Lee Gifford (Today Show), Drew Barrymore, Rachel Ray, and Jillian Barberie-Reynolds (Good Day L.A.).

I've had a thing about Barbara Flynn ever since I saw her playing a sexy ballbreaking medic in "A Very Peculiar Practice" back in the mid 80s. She would have been in her late 30s then. She's always been a character actress - main character's wife, girlfriend, boss, workmate, pal - and is probably best known for playing Fitz's wife Judith in "Cracker".

She's short, a bit dumpy, has a long upper lip and a bit of a pinocchio nose, and isn't my type at all. She's only got worse with age and the menopause - she's now 61

- but whenever I see her in anything on one of the Gold channels. such as the Beidebecke Tapes, I still fancy the arse off her.

Apologies for the poor photos - the best I could find.

I'm a great fan of the Beiderbecke Trilogy. I don't think she ever was so fanciable than in here. Droll, witty script James Bowlam and Barbara Flynn had some great lines to say with BF at her early milf-ish best. It's a shame there don't seem to be any good stills on the net. It's her hair and the cute nose that one admires so much on the visual front.
