Trying to download 4GB files from filejoker and rapidgator is impossible. Especially when there are multiple posts like this. When the post is in a mega thread as well, this makes it even more difficult for a rehost without asking

In the current situation it's just pot luck if a member rehosts on a preferred host.

The rules as has been told and enforced to and on me, is that any post
using non preferred links, can & are encouraged to be re-posted with
preferred links, with content being posted within "Megathreads", being
able to be posted in threads of their own, with the host of their choice,
preferably with a preferred file host. Definition of a "Megathread", being
any thread with more than one post of content. If this is in fact not the
rules, then there are a great many threads that need to be trashed.

Why for heavens sake 2 or more links ? its painfull and not in the spirit of what we are about, I know the site has to make money, but why not a single link?

I actually prefer a number of smaller download links on these slow hosters, as 1 link would result in my machine having to be on, and me sat at it for hours and hours. Withe smaller portions I can download 1 a day. see below

I am currently trying to get 1 of 5 parts of a download from one such host. It has given me something more to whinge about. Before the download it said it would take 45 mins. When I started downloading it said it would take 50 mins. It has been downloading for 5 hours now and still wants two more.


When I started this thread I was really just venting my frustration, and hoping for an interesting discussion. i got both. Thanks guys.

Also big creds to those members who do re-up to a faster host (like qws, who has been mentioned before, he does a sterling job)

Having read through the whole thread it might be useful to have a rethink re hosters. Not my call I know, just a thought>

I would have just uploaded the one file at that size old, filefactory offer up to 5gig, but ive found that the cash cow sites only let a free user download a 400/500mb limit on files. Anything bigger would require one to sign up for premium account.

I have even found 'premium only' links.....

Depending on whether it was a reup or a refind by the member that posted. Most rippers/release groups of movies, blue and all, would not use a method of distribution that requires the like of KS, RG,FF .etc. So there may be another source to search the web for, which is my preference over having to wait so long for a file. I call it a guide to 'leeching' lol.

Posters often don't know they're posting premium links, until they're told. They don't mean to break VEF's rules, but don't realize there are limits to how much a free user can d/l

If you see any such links, please report the post, and section mods will ask the Poster to re-up

BCFC _1982, I am not sure really. I do not know the rules well enough, and by previous comments, few people do. I was thinking perhaps of looking at either banning very slow hosts, but I do not like to ban anything really, and if we do we might loose access to some work totally, or loose members: or alternatively we could allow re-up requests. What I do know is that I do not want to create more work for Mods to do.

I'll think about it some more overnight.

My p.c. is about eight times faster than the one I used five years ago, the internet connection is much faster also, but I get the feeling that the servers we all connect to are powered by a bloke shovelling coal.

Its just supply and demand

Too many using hosts to earn rewards over supply the market with links
as they go fishing for more premium sign-ups.

Then you have the unlimited capacity of the premium users who fill up their download managers and let them run 24/7

Think right back to the p2p age where you could have had the fastest connection / computer combo but the guy sharing a file with everyone was on 56k dial-up

Thats modern day filehosts with cash rewards at their worst

especially filejoker, k2s, depositfiles and fileboom are slow hosts plus downloaders like us can't find any paid premium generator for those host it doesnt exist.
