It doesnt fucking matter. He could just as easily tossed a brick thru the window and jumped in. Would have taken 2 whole seconds longer.
Or shot the wood around the lock. 3 more seconds.

But I agree its weird someone would even answer a door at that time of night. I too would be worried. But I would call 911 then go out the back door and slowly circle around the house.

Au Contraire, a knock on the door at midnight in Philidelphia - to me - would mean "get your shotgun" - I guess they had no alarm system on or a dog that warned of strangers at the door.

I am waiting to see if the 16-year-old was a gangbanger or somehow otherwise affiliated with crime. No streetwise kid is going to be opening that door. Where were his parents?

Lots of facts not in that story that may or may not ever see publication on the internet.

The possibility exists that the shooter had the wrong house too......

Supposedly babysitting, so I guess no adults home, no further information seemingly presently available.

655 people shot in Chicago so far in 2024, how many were shot by police? I guessed 5% or something around 33 - but it was only 3 - so around a half a percent.

I hope they don't give that guy's family anything, but I am sure he will get at least nuisance level value to make the lawsuit go away.

Just another dumbshit who thought he could win a gunfight with the odds only 5 to 1 against him.
