I collect Mint Great Britain stamps both definative and commemorative. I have every stamp (except High Values) from Queen Victorias Diamond Jubilee to now.
The definatives I am trying to curb as too many flood the PO every other month.
I don't go for mis-prints, Traffic Lights or First Day Covers, just mint issues.
I doubt my collection would go for anymore than £1,500 but I like it..........even though its concieved as 'boring' to most

Not boring at all Alan.

I collect Germany 1872-1945 (MNH), and have almost completed a West Berlin 1949-1990 collection. I also collect South Africa pre-1961 and Great Britain prior to decimalisation.

I used to collect GB Mint but when the Post Office realised that they could make a killing from releasing all sorts of stuff - thus fleecing collectors - I pretty much gave up. As a result I have quite a few FDCs and Presentation Packs from the 1980s kicking about and looking for a home.

If you are really up for a challenge I'd start hunting down the High values - start with the QEII biggies, you can get some great deals on Ebay!

Very impressive and quite beautiful. I'd like to get another fixed blade with a bone/stag handle. I cant seem to find one with a sheath I like. They are either too bulky or lacking a secure fit.

Different arrangements of Bach's The Art of Fugue, and of his Chaconne for violin. I have quite a few of each - a CD full of the Chaconne, for violin, piano, piano left hand, guitar, and something else that I don't remember, is a wonderful thing to play in one go.

Aha. Edward VII is another bugger as well. These days unless you have oodles of cash the best thing is to bite the bullet and go for used issued for QV - even on Ebay the bidding is nightmarishly intense!

Collecting stuff that has no end to it can be hard work, and a bit dispiriting, when you see everything you've got and realise that the collection will never be complete.

On the other hand, collecting something like Wisden (for USians - The Wisden Cricketer's Almanac, a yearly book containing details of every first class cricket match in England in the previous season, and international matches as well (actually, I'm not sure of the criterea), plus Obituaries of cricketers (the obituary for Samuel Beckett gave details of his cricketting career, and mentioned at the end that he was also known for his writing), book reviews, etc; we also have one, from 1966, that has an obit for the Lord's cat, Peter), means that you can collect everything; people who have managed to get every edition of Wisden say that something went out of their life at that point. Maybe the thing to do then is to get rid of them and start again?

I did, many years ago now, manage to collect many of the yellow covered Wisden Cricketer's Almanac's. I had 57 in total. The earliest was from 1921 and covered the Warwick Armstrong's Australians tour of that year. I had some from the 1940/50s - but most were from 1959 to 1999. When I became short of money in the early 00's I, very reluctantly indeed, had to sell them all.
