As for the question of flying under the radar, IMO it's a good idea to try to do that, minimize the exposure of the VEF name out there, and not make a fuss. I don't see anything to get seriously upset about. (Slightly annoyed, sure.) The uploaders deserve a lot of thanks, but after all it's just re-distributed material. Think of it as being somewhat like creating customized audio mix-tapes of favorite musicians & album tracks, and distributing those. Or, equivalently, being a disc jockey.

Had this problem for ages I even found my stuff uploaded to one site and using an even more ludicrous name with it but it was clearly my stuff because it even had my original words-they don't have the brains to cover their tracks. I'm afraid all forums are wide open to leechers and people who can't be bothered to join in - but even more idiotic to actually charge these morons for the privilege-and some actually pay up!!

They probably don't care about hiding their tracks. They know there is little we can do about piracy. One might put something in the signature hoping they copy everything and is too lazy to edit anything. But that probably won't help much either.

Though I can't really muster the anger with regards to thieves stealing from thieves. But there are some things I won't post at VEF due to this rip-off.

Some observations for whatever they're worth:

Although VEF is obviously wonderful in all kinds of ways, it's not the only game in town, even if we're just considering web boards for the moment. The designation "Innertubes pr0n" is by no means synonymous with "VEF". So there are other places to post ... and to download from.

And to continue that train of thought, with both pic sets and vids there are way more luscious babes out there than you can shake your stick at ... even in a lifetime of shaking. Taking the standard "Lather, rinse, repeat" as a template, try "Download some pr0n that's new to you, shake stick, repeat" and see how long you can continue that. You'll die of old age and/or dick failure before you make it through all of the available material.

That's why I say I don't see anything to be upset about.

Or to put it another way, not only is this thing (Innertubes pr0n) bigger than any of us; it's quite a bit bigger than all of us put together.

Sorry if this point is a straw man, but that's also why there is not now, and probably never has been, any sort of problem, let alone crisis, with regard to the large ratio of downloaders (or leeches, if you prefer) to uploaders. Who the hell cares? Getting concerned about that non-problem would be like getting concerned that 7.x billion human super-destructo-critters on this poor doomed planet is too small a number and therefore we should all be breeding as much as possible, so as to hasten the inevitable eco-collapse. Focusing again on just our little VEF neighborhood, can you imagine what it would be like if suddenly every leech and lurker were to turn around and start uploading his collection? Who wants that information overload? Yikes! (BTW, I include myself in that; I'm a leech.)

Well, there are plenty of torrent sites out there and other erotic forums. But when it comes to classic movies of a certain quality VEF is bar none. A downloader perspective would always be that it's nothing to get upset about! But for uploaders that have paid a lot of dollars to get those rare movies, and used countless of hours to encode them in order to share with fellow members, it is indeed annoying to see the material posted on cash forums. But what can you do? Not posting is the same as turning the forum over to cash posters. And in that case, VEF would surely be like the rest.

Completely agree with Kogi! VEF is one of rarest places where fellow members post rare classic stuff.

I see many forums & torrent sites and what i see ? If compare forums (PS also) - 99.999% of them is crappy cash holes and VEF for them is just source of classic stuff. Explain - 99% of cash whores classic stuff taken from here. Some bastards leech stuff directly, but main part of these ones - via one free torrent site after torrent leechers repost stuff from VEF. Why torrent ? Simple: torrent site -> torrent leeching service to direct repost stuff to their cash hosts accounts -> program for posting -> cash forums.

P.S.

Simply compare Classic section on VEF and PS - a lot of rare classic movies firstly posted here... Now on PS (on filejoker)...

Sure. I wasn't intending to imply that VEF is like all the rest, or that it's disposable. But sometimes it's necessary (for one's peace of mind) to take a step back, look at the bigger picture, and indulge in some Primal Shrug Therapy. You've got VEF, and no one is about to take that away from you. Now you just have to deal with the fact that some greedhead bastards have taken some material you've posted (which you didn't create and don't own the IP rights to, even if you did encode it carefully) and distributed it elsewhere. Well, so what? If you want to promote your reputation as a scanner or encoder, you could always put your image-stamp on it.

This is a difficult one. Although some of my content was "paid for",
I like most, trawl everywhere, looking for suitable content I might
upload for VEF: Torrents, E2k, boards, blogs, site-rips, forums etc.

I have seen some of my stuff reposted on Tubes, but that's all part
of the game really.

If you are re-compiling a video, you can insert an "author" which
will be visible in file properties, though how many people ever
notice that? At least you will know it's your file.

An easier thing to do would be to add a download pass, like
"vintage erotica forum". which can certainly be done on 1fichier.
Zips and RARs could also use the same.
Now if we ALL did it the same way........?
