It reminds me of the old job adverts back in the day for "window technicians". Which were better known as window cleaners. They try to jazz job ads up these days with buzzwords and business talk but it just makes the company look like idiots.
I once saw and ad for a knowledgeable forward thinking brand aware merchandiser who was comfortable in a customer focused role. What they actually wanted was someone to stand in town handing out promotional cans of Coke Zero. |

It also shows a flippant attitude to jobseekers & speaks volumes of their HR dept Can you imagine the ribbing and belittling that anyone going for that position (or the unfortunate who gets the job) will have to endure.

I know someone who is a street cleaner/sweeper. In the old days that was the job title as it basically described perfectly the role. No one would apply and be surprised by what they were expected to do. Now though he is called something along the lines of an urban regeneration and hygiene operative. If you saw an ad for that job, especially with all the double-talk involved with job ads, you wouldn't have a clue what it actually involved.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I see half the problem as todays upcoming generations have access to too much info and things are made easy for them in general. For me that means they don't have to think as much as we did, their thinking is done for them and are duped not easy, just easier than those of older generations.

Maybe you are right. There is certainly a lot more done for them these days and life is in some aspects easier. I mean back in the day you had to go to the library search for books to study. These days they basically cut and paste shit off the internet.
However we also live in a world where people, especially kids are over protected. Kids getting obese before they even hit puberty because their parents don't let them play out. Fear of them getting sick or the paedophile bogey-man snatching them means they keep them wrapped in cotton wool. They sit upstairs on their games consoles eating and not exercising. |

Blizzard warning
The University of Wisconsin (Madison) has an "African Cultural Studies" department. Given that label, one might venture a guess as to what the curriculum includes. If you think it's about Africa and the cultures therein, you'd be wrong.
Starting next semester, the university will offer a course called The Problem of Whiteness. There's the link to the university's website. According to the course description The Problem of Whiteness aims to understand how whiteness is socially constructed and experienced in order to help dismantle white supremacy. The description further states that since white supremacy was created by white people, is it not white folks who have the greatest responsibility to eradicate it? The College Fix interviewed the "professor" for this class.. some bloke named Damon Sajnani.. who also heads a class entitled Global Hiphop and Social Justice. In the interview, he says “Whites rarely or never questioned what it is to be white, so you go through life taking it for granted without ever questioning or critically interrogating it.” For Sajnani, one way to solve this is to offer The Problem of Whiteness, an analysis of what it means to be white and how to deal with it as a “problem". “The idea of talking about the problem of whiteness is to turn the question back to where it belongs,” he said. “The problem of racism is the problem of whites being racist towards blacks,” Sajnani said. "The class will also theorize what white students can do with their “whiteness" and how to mobilize their identities as a mode for social justice as opposed to racial injustices. The premise of the course is to understand that race is neither biological nor cultural, but rather a social and political construct" He's right about one thing. Race has become a political construct. Quotas, set-asides, affirmative action, forced hires, reverse discrimination, DIVERSITY.. it's all out there... I wonder how the "professor" would interpret The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s famous quote: I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. He'd probably ignore it as there's no "victim" card to play. IMO the only problem with whiteness is that far too many of us believe the propaganda that the failings and inadequacies of others is our fault. It's hard to imagine spending thousands in tuition on this kind of shit.

Notice the difference between Sajnani and King ...... Sajnani seems to actually have a wedge between the colors, talks down whites. Maybe I'm wrong again, but he strikes me as someone who wants a cause to fight for, any cause, as long as he has one. MLK I'm sure never wanted the need to have one. Global Hip Hop

The only black people who have a problem with 'Whiteness' are those with a chip on their collective shoulders, or the black criminal element who try to use their skin colour as a feeble excuse for their criminal intent. And lets not forget those from the black community who use skin colour and race to cynically promote their political agenda.
Compare the above to the well balanced, intelligent black MAJORITY who are perpetually embarrassed by these clowns. Martin Luther King Jr? Who the hell was he?........I'll tell you, he was a giant among men, regardless of race. A man of wisdom, intelligence, and vision. No doubt Dr King would be turning in his grave given the attitude and actions of some of those so-called 'activists' who claim to represent black people. |
