Recommendable Image Hosts?

As a relative newbie, I've switched from Imagevenue to ImageBam because when viewing other people's posts, or for them viewing mine, the option is there to switch easily to the next (or previous) image. I also find it easy to download an image if I find a young (or not so young) lady particularly attractive and want to add her to my collection. Likewise, it gives other people the opportunity to easily download mine should they wish.

Or is it just me not understanding how the whole thing works?

There should be an option to go to the next/previous picture on ImageVenue files as well as the ImageBam files.
But it would depend on whether the uploader created a 'gallery' or uploaded the pictures singularly (or more commonly, without the 'gallery' option).

...personal preferences and how well the service operates in your country will be the decider for most people

No way we all learnt in the same way - as we go and have a stab at it
It all becomes second nature pretty quickly but i remember how confusing it all seemed when beginning to make posts too - stick with it, try some techniques as you go & use the "Preview Post" before submitting, then you can see the post before making it public

It's worth adding that ImageVenue do tend to organise their hosting in a series of 3 pictures per row. (I think they automatically insert a 'RETURN')

It depends on how you upload the files. If you go thru ImageVenue's own upload page then it may do that. Personally I use IIIUploader and it automatically formats the thumbnail links with a space between them. (Putting a space between the UBB codes is like putting a space between words in text. It will allow your web browser to adjust the number of thumbnails per line to fit your screen, so is generally considered the best format to post in.)

Now you've lost me completely, but many thanks for the advice. I'm away over the weekend but I'll have to do a bit of exploring next week, and a few more trial posts perhaps.

I'm always a bit wary of hitting the wrong button on those image host sites and sending my pictures to David Cameron or Ed Miliband (or worse - Hogan-Howe).

III Uploader is a program for uploading image files to image hosts. You can use it to quickly select what files or even entire folders to upload and you can select from a couple dozen image hosts to upload to. I think it is simple to use and have been using it for years. Check in the 'Useful Programs' thread, there should be a link to where you can download it if you want to check it out.

That's the learning curve & you've found out how to 'Soft Delete' a post
If you have any worse problems (such as hitting the start WWIII button ) contact that sections' moderator, who will always help you.

I wanted to add a few observations based on my experiences.

I would not use Pimp and Host - It is slow to load and has more ads and pop ups than Imagevenue or Imagebam - one of the Mods called it the "Dreaded Pimp and Host". P&H seems to be the VEF default and maybe VEF makes money from it - I don't know.

I just checked one of my posts (I have used Imagevenue for a long time) and all of the images are linked. Image linking is the default setting in Imagevenue.

If you are happy with the host that you are using then keep using it. I would trying going through one of your own posts and see how you like it from the user perspective.

Many thanks for all the previous several posts. It seems I've a lot to learn.
I did start a thread for a Glossary of terms and haven't had a chance to go back there yet to see what's on it, but GIFS ????? I've seen references to it/them before but . . .
