Man oh man, why don't they just put the entire offensive team in pink skirts. There seems to be very little defense allowed any more. It sucks IMO.

Its been too long but I'm almost positive I remember sensing real fear on the part of opposing teams when lining up against that defense. Often, you just had the feeling you were watching men lining up against boys. God how I hate saying that. But they were really that good. They didn't win more Superbowls for the usual reasons; pride and money. Payton tried his best to keep the team together but even he just wasn't enough. Do have to say one more thing though. Walter Payton was one of the best people ever to be associated with the NFL (or any other organization for that matter). Miss that guy to this day. Quote:

Did you happen to catch Frontline this last week? They had an article on continuing research into this concussion problem. Not good. Not good at all. According to the article, pee wee football enrollment is now down about 8% over the last couple of years. |

It all comes down to MNF. P-dog and t-khat are tied at 13-1. If Seattle wins, I win; if Washington wins, P-dog wins.

I think most people look as to why 1985 Bears are one of the greatest teams is the image of the franchise. As pro football organizations go, only the Cardinals and Packers are older. Their founder is also considered the founder of the league. Halas always built his championship teams with punishing defenses. The most feared defensive player in NFL history was a Bear. The city of Chicago is considered a tough place. Football is a physical game and those who play the game in a physical way are lionized. The 49ers of the 1980's were the team of the decade. Yet, they take a backseat to the Bears as the iconic team of the '80's. Again, it goes to the image of the franchise. The architect of their success was offensive minded. Two of the greatest offensive players of all time were part of that team. The iconic plays were offensive. They didn't beat you up, they surgically cut you apart. San Francisco is considered a laid-back place. Since the Niners were considered a "finesse" team, the primitive mentality of the sport places the "physical" Bears atop the heap. Ironically, it's easier to run the Niners West Coast Offense rather than the Bears 46 Defense.

Noticed your were perfect until SNF. As a long time Bengals fan I can assure you that you can always count on the Bengals to let you down.

The McCaskey's! He suggested the McCaskey's look at the Bears as a money making venture and thats all it is to them. He also suggested the McCaskey's traded 12 of their best players shortly after the game was over. Including Willy Gault who was, apparently, the fastest man in the world at the time. Just one Bears fan opinion. But I think he's right. |

Week 5 Standings
This is my first win since Week 7 of the 2012 season. I can't even give you a picture of one of this year's Jills, because there are no Jills this season. Due to a lawsuit from some former Jills, the squad was suspended for this season. So here's this lovely babe in a bikini. As to why the Bears haven't won since 1985, it's the (lack of) cheerleaders. The team had the Honey Bears squad in the 70's and 80's and the Papa Bear said the Bears would always have cheerleaders. When Virginia McCaskey took over the team, she disbanded the Honey Bears.
