As for Denmark, 'the free country':

We can have all magazines and videos/DVD's in our stores as we like.

BUT!

Lately there has been some small minority groups putting preasure on the shops. They are tired of the pure flesh porn. Worried about how children may grow up thinking this is the way sex has to be.
So, most shops (especially the big supermarket chains) has covered the material or placed them apart from the other merchandise (in high spots etc.).

Still it is a matter of consciousness how a shop owner handles the porn he offers.

With the INTERNET things has changed a lot. People buy their porn online. It is more anonymous and often cheaper.
The shops haven't got the wide offer they used to have.

It is still fully legal (except from child porn).

Porn in general is drying out in shops. It does not sell. We use this forum nowadays

The same is occurring here in the UK. The licenced sex shops are losing trade at an alarmingly rapid rate. Even sales of top-shelf magazines are being badly hit. It's all to do with the internet you know.

I live in a small town of 2300 people in Canada and you can buy XXX DVDs in the convenience stores here. No big deal.

i guess we have some law in Serbia regarding on this matter, but since majority of people don't give a damn about law you have hc dvds on the same shelf with snacks and bubble gums... a lot of people say it's inappropriate, but that's where the discussion is over...

This was true in NYC as well, when i was young, but various asshole politicos and religious types "cleaned" up the stores around Times Square and Greenwich village in the late 70s and 80s.

When I first went over to Germany, some newsagents had porn mags on sale with pussy shots on show. Nothing to extreme. But I never saw porn in a supermarket.
