And speaking of the Clintons, Hillary, who should be president now, just did an amazing thing to her "boss" when she took the blame for the recent 9/11 terrorist attack that left a U.S ambassador sodomized and dead. Made him look like a pansy hiding behind her skirt, and set herself up nicely for a run in 2016. I rue the day I ever got involved in politics.

It has to do with the fact that all the states in the union are sovereigns. They are states that are united, not one big state. That's why they have different laws, and tax codes (or no tax), and why one state will have to extradite an alleged criminal from another state instead of just going in and getting him. If Texas votes for a president, they don't want California being involved in that, and vice versa.

Could someone please tell me who the smeg is Honey Boo Boo and why she is so famous in America-is it something to do with a reality type show? Why is she being pictured all the time-her mother is not exactly a looker so what makes this family so special? Thanks. Oh yes and who or what is Jwoww?

I have no idea who Honey Boo Boo is , but Jwoww is a woman on a "reality" (cough) TV show called Jersey Shore. I have never seen the show, so I really don't know anything else about her....god I feel old.

As I understand it from the Daily Mail online she is a precocious brat-so make of that what you will
Incidentally a good song 'Collision of Worlds' that illustrates the differences between British and American phrases/words is by American singer Brad Paisley & British singer Robbie Williams sung on the soundtrack to CARS2-check it out, it's really very good and there are lyrics to follow on screen too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEJXC0aA4PU

I remember being rather shocked watching "Married With Children" and hearing that Peggy Bundy's maiden name was Peggy Wanker, from Wanker County.
I assumed at the time the word was either not very well known in the US or had a different meaning.

Honey Boo Boo is a child beauty pageant contestant from the "reality" tv show on TLC called "Toddlers and Tiaras". She now has her own show on the network called "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" featuring her and her whole fat, ugly, ignorant, gurning, family. It is a further lowering of the bar of good taste which was satirized wonderfully by South Park. I will be glad when they both fade away. |
