comics that would make great movies

Have to agree with Mal Hombre - Dark Knight would be awesome - not sure about Nic Cage - despite him being farking incredible in Kick Ass chaneling Adam West......

A couple Comics I'd love to see as a movie (or movies) are:
Mage
Grendel
Druuna!!!!!!!
Judge Dredd - America - done right
More Eightball (Clowes Ghost World is one of the best transtions)
Authority - 1st series

And my two most fervent desires:
Planetary!!!!
White Trash (Rennie & the late great Marty Emond)

Im still hoping they get this Ironfist movie going.

Meanwhile, I think Deadly Hands of Kung Fu would be a great movie with the right talented and athletic actors. Marko Zaror would make a great White Tiger.

Also Deathlok with the character having an Iraq or Gulf War backstory to explain his cybernetic parts.

Good lord, I know Nic Cage is a huge comics fan, but keep him away from this. Only his take on Superman would have been worse.

Well unless the story has been rewritten and lead character in that film is now Crazy Quilt (The lamest Batman villain ever, so one even Cage couldn`t mess up) i`d say " Please god no ! "

Actually if they want to do the masterpiece justice, but still need a reasonable name draw then i don`t think they could go far wrong with Kurt Russell as the aged Bat`s

Doctor Strange would be a good one alright and not before time to. Just a shame Hollywood seems intent on destroying the mystical and magic genre with a spate of run of the mill crud heaps like The Sorcerer's Apprentice. Which by pure coincidence (Yeah right) just happens to stars that self same sleep walking actor Nicky Cage


Another possible adaption could be Corben`s acclaimed Den .



Course they'd have to do something about the title characters preference for the au natural look , which even as a fan of the tales, i myself would pretty much insist on

The Sandman : Men of good fortune (part of The Doll's House). Hob's Leviathan could be dovetailed in, possibly Thermidor as well.

You are very wise, I love the sandman series, but to make some sort of movie-of-th-book would be a disaster. I know that there are scripts knocking around the Net that have been considered featuring the earlier plot line featuring The Corinthian, but perhaps your idea idea of filming the smaller segments might work better. I for one, would love to see the Midsummer Night's Dream story dramatized.
