The Maxx by Sam Keith
The series follows the adventures of the titular hero in the real world and in an alternate reality, referred to as The Outback. In the real world The Maxx is a vagrant, a "homeless man living in a box", while in the Outback he is the powerful protector of the Jungle Queen. The Jungle Queen is similar to the Maxx in that she also exists in the real world as Julie Winters, a freelance social worker who often bails the Maxx out of jail. While the Maxx is aware of the Outback, Julie is not, though it is integral to the story of both the Maxx and Julie. MTV had an animated version that was pretty good.

stainless steel rat
Of course, before this became a comic, it was quite a wonderful set of books by SF-author Harry Harrisson. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Stainless_Steel_Rat |

Theyve already made the ideal comic character into a film i think and thats Jonah Hex. Cant wait for the release of it. Have seen some rough trailers online and it looks even more brilliant than i could have hoped for. Also stars the brilliant brolin who i think as an actor can do no wrong. Cant wait. Roll on june 18th

I would love to see the Grendel series made into a movie, especially Grendel: Warchild. http://www.coverbrowser.com/covers/grendel-war-child

Marvelman/Miracleman would make for an awesome movie - if it was handled correctly.

It's been mentioned several times, often by Me but Frank Miller's magisterial "The Dark Knight Returns" is crying out to be filmed.I have heard talk of a movie in the works with Nicolas Cage in the lead.

Lots of the Metal Hurlant (Heavy Metal) stuff would make great movies. Some of the artists working for this magazine directed a few movies. I´d like to mention Alejandro Jodorowsky and Enki Bilal.
