Hi Machman
Me too I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10. It was a real nightmare. I also considered a return towards Windows 7 but I hesitated because that was not for me to accept defeat. Please do as you see fit and don't be ashamed of not succeedding. Keep telling us. Last edited by Ernesto75; October 24th, 2015 at 11:05 AM.. |

When I read Machman it conforts me in my opinion that it's better to wait a little more to upgrade.
Sometimes upgrades work fine, sometimes not. Obviously Microsoft depends on you to improve Windows 10. They treat us all like beta testers. It is a shame. |

First of all i'm going to hold my hand up and say i don't know 1% of what most of you in this thread know about computers but i've learned myself to do certain things and run certain software to keep me running relatively smoothly. So i keep my anti-virus up to date, run malware bytes regularly and do ccleaner at least once a week which i did today. I don't do the analyze first and just do run cleaner and let it get on with it and usually it removes around 400-700mb of crap. Not today. Today it removed 9.5GB! Now i wonder what was hiding in temporary files?

i've no idea where it came from if that's what it was - the discrepancy between what i would normally expect ccleaner to remove and what it removed today is ridiculous. I certainly haven't downloaded anything that size as i don't know how to do torrents etc which seem like the only other sizeable downloads out there and i haven't got any of the offending KB updates on my machine as i've had automatic updates turned off for years. Is it even possible it was residing in temporary files rather than the folders/files everyone has mentioned?

Anyway 9.5 Gb seems too much for a virus, a malware or an adware.
They generally tend to be discreet and 9.5 Gb is not. |

Start, in the search box enter %temp% will show you all of that junk so you can see what it is deleting in future.
Yes, with % either side, that's not a typo!! Last edited by Lentini2001; October 25th, 2015 at 09:36 AM.. |

Don't think of it as "defeat". It's more like "snatching victory from the jaws of defeat".

I agree with you: Win 10 is crap, it is not mature. Win 8/8.1 was totally crap and I refused to buy machines with it. Win 7 is a good system, Win XP also. Last edited by Ernesto75; October 25th, 2015 at 07:13 AM.. |
