No I said they have guns i.e. own or they are a function of their job, when not being used as in pest control for farmers they must be kept in a secure place.

On a much lighter note did anyone see that they want to bring back classic 70s comedy series 'Porridge' amongst others? I can see that it could work, given a great script by the original writers Dick Clement & Ian La Frenais (based in the USA now) but I cannot see how you can improve on perfection when it comes to remaking 'The Good Life' e.t.c.

I remember a remake of The Professionals made in the 90s and it just didn't work making one American and also having a girl - not that I am averse to having girls in things like that. The original series was hard-hitting with two blokes, one former police officer and one ex-SAS man working for a hard-bitten Scottish M-type character. Martin Shaw(Doyle) and Lewis Collins(Bodie) were very good with Gordon Jackson(George Cowley) running his department C.I.5 but it also showed their frailties and of course had sexy girls in it. I just don't think that or a remake of The Good Life(Richard Briers, Felicity Kendall, Penelope Keith & Paul Eddington) can match the originals. As for 'Porridge' well if they do remake it they will have to find sympathetic characters whom you can warm to like Norman Stanley Fletcher and Leonard Godber(Ronnie Barker & Richard Beckinsale - sadly both no longer alive) Personally I cannot see it working... but who knows!

Religion police, whether state officers or self-appointed vigilantes, are ALL bad. It is lucky, I believe, that those particular zealot-thugs did not have guns with them. They probably will correct that oversight in future...
