More on this pic from a story in the Daily Mail today.

She allegedly posed for McDowell (one of her closest friends, and a keen photographer) in 1956, and gave the picture to 3rd husband Michael Todd on their engagement that year.
According to the Mail story, she gave it to her makeup artist after Todd's death, it subsequently ended up in the hands of a collector in the 1980s and was believed to be lost- the owner now having gone public with it after her death...

So, is it the real thing.....? Check out this link, which suggests it's actually a photo taken by American photographer Peter Gowland in the 1940's, of a model named Lee Evans(scroll down to row 5b...)

Here's another link to what looks like proper proof that it isn't Elizabeth Taylor:

http://books.google.com/books?id=O6W...20nude&f=false

It's a shame; it would have been nice if it had been the real deal.

As for the "collector", though, he should be asked politely to explain why he told such a detailed story that goes against a great deal of contrary evidence.

Oh, and the Daily Mail should probably do a little explaining, too. It took me less than ten minutes to find evidence that the pic wasn't the genuine article... Does the Daily Mail do any fact-checking at all, or do they just print anything they are told?

The 'comments' section at the end of the Mail article actually includes several posts from readers saying that the pic isn't Elizabeth Taylor and pointing out the Gowland/Evans pic- that's how I found it.
As you say, fact-checking seems to be a bit of a stranger to the DM...

It's a curious story, and I wonder whether there is any grain of truth in it- Even if it isn't the pic currently being touted around the press, was there ever a nude pic of her taken by Roddy MacDowell and given to Mike Todd in 1956, or is the story total garbage from start to finish....?

Sadly, with her gone and Roddy McDowall gone, the world may never know... which is why the "collector" felt that his story was safe. He was very naive, though, apparently having no idea that there are hundreds of thousands of vintage erotica and glamour collectors (real ones) scouring the internet 24 hours a day.

Heck, the evidence I posted was from a book that the real photographer had published years ago, so there was never really a time when the picture was even seriously considered as being Taylor.

...which is also why I haven't trusted the Celebrity Sleuth for years. I realized over a decade ago that guy will also present photos that he either does know or should know are not what he claims. He did it with the Elizabeth Taylor pic (which is what made me suspicious about the "collectors" story to begin with; he claimed that the photo had never been seen by the public), and I once saw him do the same thing with a photo of, I believe the model Veruschka, which he claimed to "possibly" be a young Darryl Hannah. From that point on I knew the guy was a huckster, who was simply counting on people not having as good research skills as he did. Now that the internet has taken over, the Sleuth has almost been driven out of business.

This picture isn't fake, it's real. There isn't a manipulation, or an altered image with Photoshop.

Another different issue is that she be our beloved
Elizabeth, because there are serious doubts :

A book of photographer Peter Gowland published in 2000 ("Classic Nude Photography: Techniques and Images") contains a picture of the model and dancer Lee Evans identical to alleged picture of nude actress.

UPD : https://www.petergowland.com/blank

Peter Gowland died in March 17, 2010 (aged 93).
Their website has expired ... but

Update

My original comment still stands it's not Elizabeth Taylor, she never posed nude for any photographer, the closest your gonna get to seeing her breasts/nipple is in the film The Drivers Seat when she's in a clothes shop trying clothes on.

Very disturbing ... Because one of my friends told me that he read an interview with Roddy McDowall in an American magazine, there are a lot of years.
The actor said that he took the picture in 1956. ( she was 24 )
Here two pictures of Liz in 56.
Disturbing, right ?
