These are photos of the map and The Churchill Woods Forest Preserve in the town of Glen Ellyn, DuPage County, Illinois. The trail is 2.7 miles long, cut in two and separated by St.Charles Road. You can see on the map a small part of the East Branch of the DuPage River. In between one of the branches of the river is a small island with picnic tables on it. Photo 2 to the right of the map shows a small bridge that allows hikers to cross over the river and get onto the small island. North of St. Charles Rd is the other part of the trail. Hikers can get there by going through a tunnel that goes under St. Charles Rd. Now there are two trails ,one of grass, and one of crushed limestone that go through a woods and a prairie and meet. Those are illustrated on the other photos. Photo four shows a white egret, a bird that often stands upright in water and grabs fish in it's long beak and swallows them whole. Egrets also as this photo shows alight on heavy branches of fallen trees near the riverbank.
