The French President Nicolas Sarkozy wanted to eject all the Gypzies out of France.
One catholic priest who helped the Gypzies of his area, said to a newspaper that he wanted to see Sarkozy dead, because he stigmatised these people instead to help them.

Then I watched a TV report about a mayor of a village who forced the Gypzies to send their children at school as long as they will stay in the commune.

The journalist asked questions to these children and one of them said that he was very glad to go to school and was very interested to learn. The teacher confirmed that he was a very good student.

That's terrible. This child was the prisoner of racism and an old-world tradition.

I see more and more sad stories. Is there any solution to improve our relation between humans?

If Chav means stupid racists like white brainless suprematists as we can see in the American news (guys covered of horrible tatooes, who had sex with their sisters, requested to change their name in Hitler and killed a hardworking black mother coming back home in the bus)... for sure they are scum.

If Chav means too... ex-hardworking people who drink too much because they lose their jobs due to a liberal economy that push enterprises to hire immigrants at a cheaper salary... that's more tragic.

The word Chav can mean whatever people choose that it will mean. I know plenty of people who would be classed as Chavs by the Tarquins and Mirandas of this world and I consider them to be my friends, whereas I have no time at all for Tarquin and Miranda. Tarquin and Miranda speak the Queen's English but don't clean the toilet after using it because they have been waited on hand and foot all their lives and don't know how to clean up after themselves. Tarquin and Miranda are full of liberal and progressive opinions but never lift a finger to help anyone else, they spend more on a pair of shoes than most Northerners can earn in a month, and they avoid tax like bastards.

I am at least as big a snob as anyone else here on VEF and probably a worse snob than the Queen. But I have noted many times the dismissive attitude of many Southerners who voted Remain towards the Northern folk who voted Leave. Let me state frankly that this attitude gets up my nose. I resent this attitude. It makes me cross. People up North are neither ignorant nor stupid and their opinions are just as valid as those of the London intelligentsia. Possibly more valid, in that they are the opinions and judgements of people who had not had it soft.

Chav means "Prolet" or "proll" [Ger.] or "redneck" [Am.] by my dictionary..
In my opinion it's meant more the behave as the person in general. Of course there are conclusions of the intelligence of those are allowed.

Havent heard "Slag" being used for quite some time. These days I would hear "Slapper" (or "Slap" for short) instead..

"Prolet" or "proll" would probably better translate into English as a member of the prolitariat. That is to say, someone who is governed by political representatives - or, as you say, 'a person in general'.

In American, "redneck" often conveys a sense of low intelligence, but it is also a reference to upbringing in the rural parts of the former Confederate states in the south. Accent is very important in determining whether someone is a redneck.

Chavs, on the other hand, come from anywhere in the UK. There are plenty of chavs in wealthy middle-class rural areas, just as there are in poor inner cities.

It's more a reflection of attitude. A chav is someone who cares about no one other than themselves and has very short-term perspective. Typically, but by no means exclusively, a chav has acquired limited education.
