On the squat
@texastrooper - your photo is finally colored and shown below. This took quite a bit longer that I had expected. Let me know if you think anything should be changed.
1525 colored since 23 May 2010 @WDD - three photos of Allison are next in line. These should be done within a day.

I've been comparing color-film pictures with "colorized" pictures, and have some interesting observations.
Some black-and-whites are dark and dreary-looking, where even the "bright" areas are darker than they ought to be. These pictures are actually made from color film. When this film is used properly to make color pictures the colors usually look natural -- whether bright or subdued, natural. Black-and-whites made from black-and-white film appear, well, I wouldn't exactly say natural, but our eyes are used to them and they are usually more intelligible, clear (...though modern moviemakers purposely use black-and-white artistically to achieve a dreary film-noir effect). But color pictures made from black-and-white pictures made from black-and-white film? (What a mouthfull.) Like the black-and-white pictures they tend to be brighter than color pictures made from color film, which makes them appear livelier if not garish. Aside: remember when we first saw color television? The colors seemed so bright and alive. I was dazzled by cartoons I saw on a color TV in a department store. According to Grace Lee Whitney, at NBC that effect was intentional. The owners of NBC, RCA, made color televisions and wanted to sell more of them. So the sets and costumes on "Star Trek" during its first season were brighter and more colorful than on the show and its spinoffs in later years. My observation: it also explains why "Walt Disney Presents," an NBC show, became "Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color." Sorry if this is a rehash of ideas expressed earlier. This is a long, long thread. To demsal8: I notice that your more recent colorings are subdued, not much brighter than the original uncolored pictures. Is this intentional to avoid an unnatural, garish look? The fleshtones actually appear somewhat gray to my eyes, like the transitional images I've seen in movies flowing from black-and-white to color. |

Nancy taking big strides
@WDD - your three latest images from the movie Attack of the 50 ft Woman are finished and shown below. Let me know if you think anything should be changed.
1528 colored since 23 May 2010 @s0ftcore - your two images of nudist ladies are next in the queue and should be done in a day or two. @WDD discussion - in general I tend to use less than the full saturation available because I find highly saturated colors, especially skin tones, to be quite garish. There are other problems with such items, I find it hard to color properly with saturated colors. When doing the coloring, more saturated colors tend to bleed over into another territory and sometimes leave a flare in the other area which is highly visible to any observer. I have, however, used highly saturated colors on some images, though not recently. See the middle picture in post 834 done for tomesing - http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/sho...&postcount=834 where her outfit is entirely done with 100% saturated colors. Also, if you will note, recently Wrywal1ze has mostly been requesting subdued or muted colors, especially in the background. He has often requested that many areas in his photos be white, black, or grey. Because of that, the results he has been receiving may appear incomplete or too much as b&w. One of the other problems I run into at times is attempting to place a light color on an area which contains a darker gray in the b&w image. In those cases, the resultant will come out with a gray tint because the color doesn't have enough power to overwhelm the original shading. In that case, there are a few things that can be done to repress the background without using a more intense color, but those are often difficult and sometime won't work the way you may want. In any cases of work done for you, you may request that I increase the saturation on any or all photos. This is an easy change but may not necessarily yield the results you want.

I can see how grayed areas can be difficult to color. It's especially challenging where Allison Hayes appears in double exposure. Her skin doesn't appear very natural in the first and third pictures, but I don't believe you can improve on the results we see, so I won't ask you to do any more. Where Ms. Hayes is well-lit the results of coloring are beautiful. I've shared these latest pictures with fans of the movie, one of whom says he loves every one. I can't thank you enough for them.

Nudism on the beach
@s0ftcore - your two images of nudist ladies on the beach are completed and shown below. The significant delay was caused because I took a couple weeks of vacation/holiday which stretched to longer. If you want anything changed, please let me know.
1530 colored since 23 May 2010 @rejouer - your three slightly old and worn images of a young lady are next in line. These should be completed in a day or two. @WDD - as you noted, the middle image of your last delivery was brighter than the others. This was primarily due to the fact that the middle photo was originally darker than the others. In fact, I was not even aware that that image contained an electrical transmission tower until I lightened it a lot. Since I was aware these images were supposed to be nighttime, I deliberately left them darker where it seemed appropriate. To compensate, here are the other two lightened similarly.

Thank you, Demsal8!
Whenever you get a chance: >> s0ftcore, you don't need to use the IMG tag, just copy the BB-Code after uploading to ImageBam. The result is above, but - although you now have thumbnails, the images themselves won't load. I don't know if this is a temporary problem or not, so I've left the duplicate. MIB<< *Thanks MrInBetween* Last edited by s0ftcore; September 2nd, 2015 at 04:14 AM.. Reason: Created thumbnails |

Old photos of a young lady
@rejouer - your three photos of a young lady are completed and shown below. Let me know if you think anything should be different.
1533 colored since 23 May 2010 @Predator2 - your three images are next in line and should be done in a day or two. @s0ftcore - I've tried but cannot get any images from the links you've provided. How about posting thumbnails that link to the full size images like everybody else on this forum.

A large photo and a couple of repeats
@Predator2 - your request to color a large image of a naked lady is done and shown below. The other two photos of this request showing Suzy Sparks have already been done in an earlier request of yours: http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/sho...postcount=1966 Let me know if you want anything changed.
1534 colored since 23 May 2010 @Spy4Darwin - your three photos of Hanneke are next in the queue and will be done in a day or two. @spazarino - your ship has come in! I decided I wanted to do something different and your request was easy compared to the other things I'm doing. Because clearing out the things you requested left a large blank space in the picture, I created two copies, one complete and the other cropped to look natural. @s0ftcore - I'm still unable to get any reasonable sized pictures from what you have posted (as noted by MrInBetween). Want to try again?
