Rock Goddess
I also used to have a thing for Jody Turner, singer/guitarist of Rock Goddess. They were originally active in the early to mid-80s, but had a second stab at fame in the early 90s. These pics were scanned by me (again, without 'despeckling') from 1994 issues of Kerrang! and Jody's second from the left in the first shot.
I'll see if I can rustle up some 80s photos of the band (to stay on-topic), her sister (Julie, their original drummer) was pretty good-looking too! |

Rock Goddess (again)
80s-vintage photos have duly been rustled up:
Promo shot for second album (c.1984), L-R: Julie Turner (drums), Jody Turner (guitar & vocals), Dee O'Malley (bass) "Sometime in the 80s" (yeah, thanks for that), Dee and Jody separated by Mike Favata of Thor's band: Really old promo photo, pre-first album - this could be c.1981, which means Jody's about 18 here and Julie's about 14 ( ). Well, they did start the band when they were 13 and 9 respectively... That's original bassist Tracy Lamb on the far left Hell, let's go for it - YouTube links for a couple of songs recorded at the sweatbox that was The Marquee Club in 1984. A must if you like your early-80s Metal...and you love ladies who wear spandex trousers and wield a mean Les Paul: My Angel Satisfied Then Crucified Last edited by Grendel22; March 21st, 2009 at 10:24 PM.. Reason: Furiously adding links. |

with whom they preformed the duet EP, St. Valentine's Day Massacre with, in 1981 reaching #5 in the charts, also recorded a duet with Gary Glitter in '86.
interestingly Cris Bonacci, one of the Girlschool guitarists, became Sam Fox's manager, and girlfriend |

My missus was into all this sort of stuff and still is to a degree.
Here's one that hadn't been mentioned before (I don't think). Lorraine Lewis from Femme Fatale I wouldn't kick her out of bed for farting..... |

Wendy O Williams
Sadly I could say the same of Wendy O Williams (R.I.P.) of the Plasmatics. One wild lady who ventured into HC for a bit. There is one scene here on V.E.F. of her shooting ping pong balls .. and I don't mean with a gun! Edit: the movie I allude to here is "Candy Goes to Hollywood" starring the delectable Carol Connors. Last edited by blondifan; November 2nd, 2009 at 04:31 AM.. Reason: remembered the film title |
