Default The Conceptual Penis

Philosopher Peter Boghosian hits the nail on the head criticizing Post Modernist 'knowledge' [cough!] via his spoof piece "The Conceptual Penis" which was indistinguishable from Post Modernist politically correct bullshit!

Almost 100 ESPN employees have been let go in sweeping downsizes over the last several months, but Britt McHenry thinks hers had more to do with politics than sports.

The sports reporter replied to a column from Outkick the Coverage writer Clay Travis, in which he quoted an ESPN executive saying the network isn’t too liberal, despite recent complaints.

“I mean I’ve been openly Conservative...look how that ended up,” she responded on Twitter in a now-deleted tweet captured by the Big Lead.

McHenry is best known for her one-week suspension after being caught on camera berating a parking lot attendant in April 2015.

ESPN reporter Britt McHenry writes pity piece nobody wanted
“I’m on television, and you’re in a f---ing trailer, honey,” she said, referring to the employee as a “college dropout.”

In December, McHenry posted and deleted a photo with House Speaker Paul Ryan at a GOP event in Washington, D.C.

A week later, she penned a first-person apology for her verbal outburst in which she recalled all of the abuse she received.

Ed Werder, Jayson Stark and Trent Dilfer were among the biggest names laid off at ESPN recently.

Default Pride parade kicks out Jewish flag

The rainbow flags with the Jewish symbol "made people feel unsafe", an organiser told the Windy City Times.
Laurel Grauer said she was told to leave the so-called Dyke March "because my flag was a trigger to people that they found offensive".
The organisers later hit back, saying Israel hides behind LGBT-rights.
"It was a flag from my congregation which celebrates my queer, Jewish identity which I have done for over a decade marching in the Dyke March with the same flag," Ms Grauer told Windy City Times.
Ms Grauer, who works for A Wider Bridge, which supports LGBT people in Israel, said she lost count of how many times she was verbally harassed by other marchers on Saturday.
The Dyke March takes place one day ahead of the city's official Pride March.
It is described by organisers as being a "more inclusive, more social justice-oriented" march than the city's main Pride parade.
In a social media post, the Dyke March said: "This decision was made after [the expelled marchers] repeatedly expressed support for Zionism during conversations with Dyke March Collective members."

Ms Grauer told the Times: "People asked me if I was a Zionist and I said, 'yes, I do care about the state of Israel, but I also believe in a two-state solution and an independent Palestine.'
"It's hard to swallow the idea of inclusion when you are excluding people from that," she continued.
"People are saying, 'You can be gay but not in this way.' We do not feel welcomed. We do not feel included."
In a statement, the Dyke March Collective later accused Ms Grauer's organistion of "using Israel's supposed 'LGBTQ tolerance' to pinkwash the violent occupation of Palestine".
A Wider Bridge hit back in a statement, saying: "That the organisers would choose to dismiss long-time community members for choosing to express their Jewish identity or spirituality runs counter to the very values the Dyke March claims to uphold, and veers down a dangerous path toward anti-Semitism."
They called upon the Dyke March Collective to issue a full apology.
Red State, a conservative blog, wrote: "When you're the organizer of a gay pride parade meant to celebrate 'inclusiveness,' then you're not just engaging in bigotry and anti-Semitism, but you're saying to the world you're also a giant hypocrite."

Default It's snowing in Georgia

A University of Georgia professor has adopted a “stress reduction policy” that will allow students to select their own grades if they feel unduly stressed by the ones they earned.

Dr. Richard Watson has introduced the policy because “emotional reactions to stressful situations can have profound consequences for all involved".

As such, if students feel “unduly stressed by a grade for any material or the overall course,” they can email the instructor indicating what grade they think is appropriate, and it will be so changed with no explanation being required.

“If in a group meeting, you feel stressed by your group’s dynamics, you should leave the meeting immediately and need offer no explanation to the group members,” the policy adds, saying such students can discontinue all further group work with their remaining grade being based totally on non-group work.

Similarly, when it comes to tests and exams for Watson’s courses, all will be open book and open notes and “designed to assess low level mastery of the course material.”

Finally, for in-class presentations, Watson will allow only positive comments to be made, while comments designed to improve future presentations will be communicated by email.

So.. pick your own grades, abandon any team effort for no reason, and allow only positive reactions to presentations. Man.. I pity these kids the first day the real world hits them square in jaw. As a recruiter, I ALWAYS look for low level mastery.. gets me the most mediocre candidates.

Default The snowflakes are at it again

‘Lynch’ will be removed from names of two elementary schools. You already know why.

After recent complaints from families and students, the word “Lynch” will be removed from the names of two elementary schools in Portland, Oregon.

There’s a reason the word “Lynch” has been featured as part of Lynch Wood and Lynch Meadows elementary schools.

Patrick Lynch donated a parcel of land to the school district in the late 1800s, and naturally a number of schools included his name.

But recently, district officials said some people were becoming upset about the name “Lynch,” KGW-TV said, as it drew their thoughts not to the benefactor from long ago but to the verb “lynch” and the racism surrounding it.

“I know the majority of you guys are white and it’s hard to know how that word could have an effect but it does,” a student said at the Centennial School Board meeting Wednesday night, the station reported. “If a simple name change could make students feel safe, then why are we holding back?”

"Feel safe"?

Oy...

In the town I live in the people who donated the land and building our main library must of had a crystal ball as in their donation was the clause that it revert back to their family if it was used for something else in the next 150 years . so things like changing the name would never happen , so 60 years later the land is still a library but not main one but when it was built it had a park around it and serves as a farmers market in season or in winter a place to hold various events

I wonder if they changed a name of a school in the south to Miscegenation high how many parents would be up in arms?
I have seen this happen for different reasons at other schools in the past.
