I am sure it would survive mate, I have got to the point and age where I don't like being told what to do, say, etc by authority especially cyber ones who think they know you when they clearly DO NOT and make the mistake to assume that because you have made so many errors they are deliberate, well I have news for them you DO make mistakes as you get older, and maybe I am at an age now where I don't like being told what to do by complete strangers. What really pisses me off is being told "you were a Mod once" well yes 6 bloody years ago when it was a lot different to today's Modding, so having that quoted at me in PMs all the time annoys me.

Anyway, reputation is everything here and mine was sealed a long time ago. I have nothing to prove to anyone, my record speaks for itself and I am not looking to be involved in a popularity contest. VEF will survive because like me others CAN be bothered to stop lurking and contribute.

On a personal note I always said that if Inglorious left then eventually I would do too, SEVEN years at a site it perhaps too long, and I have exceeded everything I set out to do, so perhaps the time has come for me to take my leave soon, I feel this is really my FINAL year here. I would like to see you become a Mod, I think you would be very good.

Actually, being denied access to a section by a Mod last week for the first time ever(30 days which seems to me rather extreme- has broken this particular camel's back-forget the year, 15,000 posts, which will be a major milestone for me, is my final goal and then I am off-I am tired and had enough.

well I for one would miss your humour Gm. As a man of a similar age to yourself I fully understand how our brains are slowing down.... and NO, we aren't THAT old.... just under middle aged in fact, but that's still old enough that our "little grey cells" don't work like what they once used to.....

I stopped taking any moderator's pm's personally a while back, i know they don't all have history with me as some did, and was quite honoured that one recently re pm'd me to apologise in case i'd taken offence to his previous pm; which i hadn't; but it was nice that he bothered.....

Lots of the mods and members i once bantered or argued with have gone; Inglorious, Marlon, etc.... to name just two.... but we all move on at some point; i'm only amazed i've been here so long... but then as i've said before, this forum really does have the best content over so many imposters out there who try to take us on.... that's down to all the members who've posted over the years, not just a handful, which is perhaps our secret...? while regulars who know who they are are the core and important, every so often a quieter poster or even lurker will post something that makes me go "Cheers mate, been wanting to see that for bloody ages!" and reinvigorate my interest in this hobby once more.

@GM.... compare my stats to your own in only a slightly longer period... do they make me any less worthy? i would hope not.....??!! some people just have less time or energy or content to post than others..... at least that's my excuse, and i'm sticking to it like a damn sticky arsed limpet like thing.

Reputation points of whatever way people worry here are really not important... it's the spirit with which we share that matters..... So stop worrying about charts and what other people think of you; this is to everyone out there; and just contribute where and when you can.... Oh, and play nice...!!!

Ruputation may be one thing and it's easy enough to acquire numbers although sharp eyed mathematicians may notice I've had over 2,000 posts trimmed, but after all, the scale below the stats goes into the green pretty easily & swiftly tops out, often before a member gets to senior level.
but respect is a whole different kettle of worms
..that takes time, an ability not to take yourself too seriously, the bravery to open-up & banter (at the right times & in the correct sections eh mods) If allowed into that section?
It does take a bit of courage when you start to express ideas & opinions, not every member finds it so easy to venture into GN&D, help or Id sections

GM & Pheg, you've both had my respect since i've been here & the forum would not be as characterful or well rounded without your input & insights (i'm getting all teary eyed now with all the sincerity ~sniff~)

Yeah, I'm just not sure how much carried over to the new system. I've modded another forum since 2001 using the same software. The positive and negative reps depended on various factors, like how much reputation you have now. Right now the T-button equals 5 reputation points. So my measly like might have equaled 2 reputation points while Spicoli's like might've equaled 50 reputation points under the old system.
