Cashless society .
It's reckoned soon nobody will carry cash anymore and all our transactions will be by plastic .
Which for me begs the question ..... How will the cashiers in the Marks and Spencer simply food garage at Wetherby services get by if they can't shortchange customers no more ? You need to count your fingers after paying for something there . A worrying time for them |

When debit cards first came out, I swore I would never get one. Now I am completely the other way around. I have a debit card and use it for just about all of my purchases. I carry cash in my wallet just in case but I will literally go several months without touching it.

I've been hearing "we're going to be a cashless society" for at least two decades. I'm not saying it may not get there some day, but I doubt most of us on this forum will be alive when it happens. There are still too many people that will only use cash, or mostly use cash. There are still too many places that will only take cash...farmers markets, flea markets, garage/yard sales.

Pensioners EXIST...don't right-them-off
Cashless is a means, but the HACKS are getting stronger and cuter, enabling them to remove or displace money. KEEP your dosh physical is my advice. In a Safety-Box at a Bank...under your mattress ....in your old Aunts Wardrobe.. wherever I was thinking hundreds or possibley a few thousands ...ok If you are talking MILLIONS.... you've had it The Hackers will get you - especially as each Island goes down under the Hurricanes...gotta be a panic now Use cash ! |

Plain money instead of scriptural money
No cash money is not the main problem.
That's practical to use a debit card. The problem is that there are far too much virtual money (virtual debts) than real money. Credit card already can be insane. Scriptural money is money that does not really exist. The State gives the right to the banks to virtually create in their computers, a quantity of money that does not really exist. If I remember well, depending the country, banks can create more than 10 times of virtual money. In Switzerland, there are people who want to create a law written in the Swiss constitution, against the scriptural money. In fact they want that the National Bank prints the same quantity of real money than the scriptural money. I agree with this. Scriptural money is the best way to steal your money, to speculate, to put into debt the youngest generation and to destroy our societies. Bankers can create debt from nothing. Then people have to work to refund their debts back. Look at what happen in 2008 with the subprime crisis. We still are not out of danger. Debt is bad, inflation is bad, speculation is bad, interests on debt are bad. Last edited by Roubignol; September 20th, 2017 at 10:01 AM.. |
