I am a former coal miner from Donetsk Ukraine.

There were no doable women in close proximity to coal mine town. Ones in a long while a special bus charted by the trade union would bring a whole bunch of young women from the cotton mill that was 50 miles away. A bunch of about 50-60 guys would participate in meeting these girls at the "Palas of Culture". It always happened after the shift in the mining face. We did not have weekends, working five days in a row and sleeping one day.
So the guys and the gals were pretty tired with the faces that were clearly scrubbed for an extended period of time just before the party.

I remember that my head was spinning just from the sound of the skirts and nylon stockings rubbing each other. The women were clearly drunk on just seeing the guys because in their town with the population of twenty thousand there was one guy for two hundred women. So a guy of any kind was THE guy. The right man was a right now man. Everbody had big eyes and breathed deeply. Then the dance would start with always the same old Hotel California tape track and the Venus (the goddess on the mountaintop, burning like a silver flame). That was it. The rest was a mess. It did not take any time at all for the women to drag men into the dark back rooms and random sex started in honest. Everybody tried to stay awake while fucking, but neither the guys nor the girls could be sober while not at work. We all smelled of the cheap Soviet soap. The girls had used a very stinkily Soviet fragrance, that made me suffocate at the close proximity to the woman's body. Some guys actually drunk the perfume that they had fished from the girls' purses. Dancing you could hear the champing and the chawing of the pussies coming from the dark room next to the dance floor. In one word: the bad hardcore nightmare.

The party of the engineering people or any other educated personnel of higher education was less fun, but stank much worse with the human BO, because the engineers had not sweet and showered every day. Otherwise the same sexual hanger with lesser pussy riot.

The only good part of the USSR was my waist perimeter of 28 inches (it is 38 now). Everybody was slim and sexy due to the constant shortage of food and an excessive workout and the workplace

The kind of bureaucratic roadblock is called "administrative resources" and does not need to be ordered. Everyone knows what is needed to support "the power vertical" and no one needs to say "will no one rid me of this turbulent priest" in order to act

Whats more interesting is the selection of paris hilton (aka ksenia sobchak) as the only opposition since she's putin's mentor's daughter. the same ex mayor of Pietr that putin snuck out of the country when he was facing corruption charges (the action that put putin on the political map, and the rest was history)

I can only tell you what I think. I live in european sub-arctic, and temperatures often seem at least 10C warmer than they were 10 years ago. 20 years ago they were certainly colder, at least in my memory. People don't talk about -40C temperatures anymore, unless they're saying we hardly get them

Temperatures in my hometown don't seem to change. It will always be colder than most other places
