So is surgery and many industrial processes-they can also be noisy smelly and dangerous-or simply complicated. Your reasoning is way too simplistic....

And I note-despite your frequent posting-you do not seem to have made any headway in convincing anyone else here on VEF of the superiority of your dietary, political, or philosophical positions.

And finally-I worked for 5 years in a slaughterhouse during the university long vacation- over the years '76-'79 -we call them 'freezing works' in NZ-which processed sheep, cattle and pigs-so I am intimately familiar with the entire process that goes on there-I have first hand experience.

Not that simplistic... In our societies, we hide a lot of brutal pictures to children, because it could be psychologically disturbing.
There are sensible children and others who are not.

That's also demonstrate that violence shown to children, can permanently disturb them during all the rest of their life.

I hope that you will have the intellectual integrity to admit this.

I'm used to answer to people who take the time to reply to me and not only click the thanks button or do not answering when the questions can put my theories into trouble... I was educated like that.
That's what we call debate and I'm glad to fairly debate here.
Even when I'm wrong, I try to take the best of the others opinions.

Last words on this... you asked me several questions and I always replied to you.
The initial topic was based about the taste... it was merged with another topic in my great insatisfaction. But... that's the rules of this forum and... Estreeter likes to debate.

Interesting. So on a scale of 0 to 8 (8 to be considered of the highest degree of psychopathy) at which level would you describe yourself?
I must say that I'd be between 2 or 3.

All veterinarian students have to do stages in slaughterhouse.
There is a marvelous description in the following text "A veterinarian student in a slaughterhouse" written by a German veterinary.

I used to be an omnivore. But them I had a ethical crisis so I went vegetarian, but it was too hard to get all the nutrition you need. Now I eat about 250 grams of meat twice a week. A compromise between conscience and healthy diet.

Thumbs down

I have stopped eating red meat(beef, lamb, pork, etc). I only eat chicken, turkey, fish and seafood. I stopped eating red meat about ten years ago. Red meat certainly has a fantastic taste , but the high fat content and the type of fat in it is very un-healthy. Only occasionally when it can't be helped will I eat a pizza with sausage and pepperoni on it, but that is rarely. When I was much younger I had a hamburger cooked well done almost every night for dinner.

Today we are wasting billion of liters of non-renewable oils because of exagerated production of meat.
Our oceans are almost empty.

Instead to produce that much corns and sojas to feed beefs and porks, we (human beings) could eat these vegetable proteins directly.

With 7.3 billion people, daily eating animals is a wastage of resources that could be very important in the future for the next generations.

I can understand that for a lot of people, that's very difficult to stop to eat meat, cheese and fish, but try at least to eat a tasty vegan pancake (soja, bean, quinoa) covered of the sauce you like.

Try to make your own pizza with vegan mozarella instead of buffalo mozarella.
Instead of meat, use mushrooms.

Just ask to vegan or vegetarian people you know, to help you to prepare recipes.
If you don't like a dish, try another one...
Try at least 10 to 15 different recipes. You surely will find 5 to 7 tasty ones.

Tomato, basilic, pesto, parsley, curry, oregano sauces are vegan.
Use margarine instead of butter.

If you are afraid to get some deficiencies of vitamins, eat "bio" eggs ("bio" certifying that hens are fairly treatedy) or even better, speak with with a nutritionist to find the best compromises.

Djokovic has opened a vegan restaurant in Monte Carlo. Djokovic and his partner, Jelena, have just opened a 100% vegan restaurant in Monaco.

Carl Lewis was competing as a vegan athlete.

Yes, but these people have access to resources that us ordinary folk don't and Monaco...gees, get real!
Generally I find myself in agreement with a lot of your views, but you can't browbeat people into change, they have to come to it themselves.

I just try to inform myself as much as I can and share what I've learned.
Nothing else.

I've friends who still eat animals. But a lot of them have done like yourself, they have highly reduced their consumptions, because of ethical and environmental problems.

If we forget the aspect of the ethics about animal exploitation, 7.3 billion people can't eat as much meat as Western countries do. That's unsustainable.

According to a lot of scientists our societies are near to collapse, because a few abuse of natural resources when the huge majority of humanity lives with very few.

That's the future of your grandchildren that is on the balance.
