Yes wigs and gowns, as do the judges along with a red robe, but this is only in the Crown Court, the lower courts, Magistrates, County and Tribunals they wear normal clothes, but it is an ancient tradition, and part of our history, it is also a badge of rank, as only barristers can wear them, not solicitors.

Daft thought it may seem we are proud of our traditions, probably because as a nation we are old enough to have them
