GELLORAMA video: These screen shots are from the 1987 video "Gellorama" which was one of those 1980's T&A videos. This Jell-O wrestling contest was shot at something called "Le Club Gellorama" or the Hollywood Tropicana. The video says the former, but maybe it's just the name they gave to the Tropicana (Ginger told me that was where she wrestled) in the screen credits.

Anyway....another video called "Intimate Fantasy: Made For Man" is basically a Ginger Miller highlights film. It has the Gellorama wrestling and dance/strip sequences (though set to different music) and also has an interview sequence with the wrestling 'madam' who MC'd the event talking to Ginger and asking her a few questions. So I basically have the screenshots from this video first and then the "Gellorama" dance/strip/wrestling shots from both videos (since they're the same, except for the soundtrack).

If anybody cares, Ginger won the match, 4-3.

I will be posting this video in the near future along with some other bikini and video stuff that Ginger appears in.

GELLORAMA, The Match: Here are more pics of the actual 3-round wrestling match from the video set above, no idea what was the real name of the woman who was her opponent. Ginger called herself 'Darling Nikki' and the other girl was 'The Baby Driver' (no idea how she came up with that beaut).

GELLORAMA and FOXY FOOD FIGHT both came out in 1987 but I think we can surmise that GELLORAMA was taped after FFF. How do I know that ? Because as you can see, Ginger wrestled in GELLORAMA in a 1-piece bathing suit, whereas in FFF she wore that 2-piece yellow bikini which was alot more difficult to wrestle in -- and in which she had a 'mishap' at the end of the match. My guess is she learned her lesson in FFF and went to the 1-piece for strategic and cover-up reasons.



For what it's worth, I think that Ginger never looked better than when I saw her in GELLORAMA.....not in her other videos, not in her Penthouse POTY layout, not in person. If all her other appearances and shoots are, on a scale of 1-10, 8's and 9's and maybe the POTY layout was a "10"....I think in GELLORAMA she looked like a "12." She's got alot of makeup but it's not 'overkill' IMO. I just think she never looked better and wanted to thank this site because I learned how to do the screencaps of the DVD and now I have these clips of Ginger as pictures whereas before I either had to watch the video or maybe take a picture of the TV with my digital camera, with lousy results.

Ginger told me when I met her in late-1993 (about 6 years after the video) that she 'used to wear alot more makeup' (her exact words). She also did NOT know what I was talking about when I referenced her appearance in the GELLORAMA video -- either she totally forgot or she just did the wrestling gig at the club (whatever it was called: Le Club Gellorama or the Hollywood Tropicana) and was unaware what the title of the video was going to be called. In the MADE FOR MAN video, you can see her signing what is probably a Model Release at the end of the video in the dressing room, probably none of the girls got residuals for VHS sales other than their fee for that night at the show.

FOXY FOOD FIGHT: I guess this was a bit different than the normal mud or Jell-O wrestling fad videos that were a staple of the video stores of the 1980's. FFF was filmed in 1987, and I am pretty sure it was before March's GELLORAMA for the reasons listed above (you can see Ginger fixing her top a few times during the match vidcaps I will post and also during the video from earlier in the thread).

Ginger lost the match , she was the Fightin' Feline and her opponent was Sugar Ray Renee aka Cindy Rhome. Cindy was also a 1980's veteran of these kind of action videos. Initially, Ginger came out as a carrot and Cindy was a bunch of grapes. Don't ask me why.

I conversed with a woman who was actually Ginger's roommate during the mid-1980's and apparently Ginger and other girls may have had more wrestling gigs than we realize, enough to pay their bills, but very few of them were commercially shot for videos. The girls were all hoping to be discovered for acting or modeling gigs. In Ginger's case, they helped her get that Bikini Cola girl gig, some of the modeling stuff I showed earlier, and the September 1986 Penthouse centerfold. FFF was shot at the Whisky A Go Go located on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, which is a pretty big club/bar featuring alot of up-and-coming bands and other off-beat entertainment, I guess.

GELLORAMA and FFF were both after her Penthouse pictorial, but I don't see Ginger doing anything for the T&A videos after 1987; she was crowned Penthouse POTY in mid-1988 so maybe she just had other jobs or maybe Penthouse asked her to cut down on her exposure. You never know when or if you'll get hurt in these things, so if you want to model, best to probably do as few of them as possible. You can see Ginger's Penthouse pendant in the dance sequence vidcaps.

FOXY FOOD FIGHT, The Match: Shots from FFF with Ginger vs. Cindy.

Is it just me or does Ginger look a little bigger 'up top' than she did in her 1985 and 1986 pics from earlier in the thread (like CALIFORNIA GIRL BIKINI CONTEST) ? I am pretty sure that this silver bikini she is wearing in FFF is the same one she work in CGBC #3 -- and it definitely looks more filled out in FFF. Maybe she had some work done or maybe her body just changed and she lost some baby fat in the 9-15 months between the tapings. But alot more cleavage and curvy !

The shots at the end where Ginger is bending over is where she was 'fixing' her mishap.

The Whisky apparently closed down in 1982 for rock bands and music gigs; when it re-opened in 1986 it was available for renting for special events like FFF.

Miss Lite Beer Bikini Contest (aka "Miss Jamaica Contest"): OK, here's some screenshots with an interesting story (NOTE: A fellow VE member is going to post a link to see the entire 3-minute video/film).

Anyway, these shots are from a contest that was apparently for a "MISS LITE BEER" contest (you can see the winner with a sash at the end in the video). The initial screen shot says "MISS JAMAICA" but I have no idea if that was put in from the initial video creator. The original VHS was called MILE-A-MINUTE-BIKINIS, a 2-hour VHS of everything from camcorder tapings of bikini shows to just people on the beach (again, I believe a fellow VE member is going to link the entire video on the Bikini Contest thread).

What you are seeing are shots taken from someone behind-the-stage with a no-sound camcorder circa 1985. You can tell it's not a professional, very herky-jerky and quick cuts. Sorry the quality isn't better, the video will look better. Looks to be an outdoor bikini contest in either the LA or San Diego areas. The only girls I recognize are Ginger Miller and 1980's bikini contestant and future model/actress Julie Kruis (I included a few shots of Julie, too). When the video link is up you can see a shot of a guy with a larger sound-equipped camcorder up-on-stage; maybe there was a commercial release of this contest or it was just done for private use, I don't know. No idea if Lite Beer actually sponsored this event or they did it as a promotion and could care less about the video rights. Used to be a "MISS COPPERTONE" contest but apparently the company had no official involvement with that one, either.

In any event, this is the earliest footage of Ginger Miller I have with the exception of the Bikini Cola can. The girls apparently went on stage several times. You can see their contestant numbers on their bikini bottoms. Ginger looks very young and a bit 'smaller' up top. There's an Uncle Sam character on the stage -- maybe this was July 4th ??? -- and there are lots of quick cuts to girls who some of you might remember. Who knows, maybe someone here actually was there in attendance 25 years ago !

Hope we can get some IDs of all the other participants in this bikini contest from yesteryear once the video link is uploaded.

Best Chest In The U.S. Another Bert Rhine Production, this one dated 1987 on the VHS release. Judging by her hair style, it looks like late-1987. Notice that the black bikini that Ginger wears is the same one on the cover of the WILD BIKINIS video from ERI (see box cover shot on Page 1). Also notice that the hat and sheer black body lingerie is the same as she wore in GELLORAMA. Ginger chose and/or designed her own costumes, and it shows as she wore the same stuff in different venues.

Brandi Downs appeared in this T&A video; I included a shot of her alongside Ginger when all 5 of the contestants in this round came out for another dance before the judges (assuming they were judging, that is ). Also notice that another girl is wearing a Penthouse necklace; Ginger is not. I am not sure the girl in question is a Penthouse Pet (can anybody ID her ? She's the girl on the far right in the lineup wearing the white silk top) and I think that Ginger might have gave her the Penthouse necklace. Maybe Ginger didn't want to wear it or maybe even she wasn't contractually allowed to (though it does appear in FOXY FOOD FIGHT). Not sure what her legal obligations were on wearing a personal PENTHOUSE necklace in non-PENTHOUSE commercial venues.

Is that Candy Evans in the lineup, too ?

Ginger took her top off during the lineup sequence but covered up and didn't show 'them' off during her dance sequence, either. She's actually quite conservative in alot of these videos, not going topless even on THE ROBIN BYRD SHOW, which was a stripper show designed for feature dancers to pump-up their appearances in NYC. When she was dancing on tour, she preferred clubs that were bikini-only instead of topless, even though the $$$ were better in the topless clubs.

I know she posed for a topless photo with Howard Stern at one of the clubs she appeared in (I was there) but that was the exception. She was really PO'd at Stern a few months later and probably regretted posing for the shot judging by her comments about him.

"Good Day NY" appearance and photos: Here's the Channel 5 NY (Fox) "GDNY" appearance in December 1988 right before Ginger was formally named the 1989 Penthouse Pet Of the Year. She dropped in on the frat guys at Stevens Institute which is across the river from NY (in Hoboken). Penthouse and Ch. 5 did some promotional work involving the Pets at this time in the late 1980's featuring soft-news guy Gordon Elliot (later became a TV talkie with his own show). Ginger did a similar drop-in shortly after this one (Columbia University ?) but I only caught a few seconds of the show and never have been able to find a tape of that appearance.

Funny thing is when Ginger was touring in 1994 she and I were talking one night and one of the frat guys from Stevens Institute showed up and reminded Ginger about her appearance at the school 5 years earlier ! She remembered the appearance, I guess she had a good time and enjoyed the low-pressure carefree days of being POTY.

Ginger appears alot 'softer' in the TV appearance. She was younger than in her other video appearances and maybe wasn't as 'hardened' by the business. To this point, it was one big meteoric rise in a few years to Penthouse Pet Of The Year. Good modeling and acting jobs didn't just show up on her door after her reign as POTY. I think this was her pinnacle of success and maybe like alot of girls this fact escaped her at the time and disappointed her later. It's not that she wasn't as sweet a person, but if you met her pre-1989 and when I did in 1993/94 you could tell the difference in mannerism and attitude, as if she knew that alot of people make promises and break them and that 'the business' isn't just glamorous photo shots or choreographed TV appearances for a major NY television station.

Only 21 years of age....Penthouse POTY....nice salary....nice gifts and perks....waited on hand-and-foot.....clothing and makeup people available for free....jobs and appearances chosen for you....not a care in the world except smiling and looking spectacular (not that difficult for Ginger ! )....like I said, she was on top of the world. I could see why the next few years would seem alot tougher.

First time posting video, hope it works ! You can fast-forward to the 3 minute mark as before that it's just setting up for her appearance and Gordon talking to the folks in studio. She has breakfast with the frat guys, meets some people, and later on 'wakes up' a guy who they thought was sleeping (turns out he was studying and pulling an all-nighter, something I am very familiar with from my college days ! )
