Very sorry to read that, she was one very sexy lady. Another of the Bond family is lost. I seem to recall that all you really saw in the infamous shower scene was her bottom but I wouldn't have blamed Sean for extending his scene with her-what a body! RIP Molly.

John Noakes
I had the great pleasure of working with John many years ago on a TV series about hunting dinosaurs. Wherever we shot around the south coast people old and young would approach the unit and John was always polite and welcoming. Many thought the dog he had with him was his famous old friend and were disappointed to find it wasn't the dog they thought it was but still would say 'Get down, Shep'.

John never got over the BBC not allowing him to keep Shep when he left Blue Peter, cruel not just to John, but Shep as well in my book.
On a brighter note he brought some real life into the world, the elephant incident and falling out of the back of a bobsleigh are my personal favourites. Thank you John, RIP. |

John Noakes
Old friend of mine has been wearing his Blue Peter badge since the sad news of Johns death became public. My friend Phil was awarded his badge as an adult and it was he who invited John and Peter Purves to try banger racing at Brafield Stadium (Northampton) and himself appeared in the feature. Later on in the 70's I raced there too.
RIP John, you will be remembered for as long as your audiences live. |

Coronation Street's Roy Barraclough dies
Comic actor Roy Barraclough, best known for playing Rovers Return landlord Alec Gilroy in Coronation Street, has died at the age of 81. His agent said he died on Thursday after a short illness. Barraclough was seen on screens most recently last year, in a revival of classic sitcom Are You Being Served?. The Lancashire-born star was also known for his partnership with Les Dawson, especially their portrayal of duo Cissie and Ada. The gossip-loving northern housewives - full names Cissie Braithwaite, played by Barraclough, and Ada Shufflebotham, played by Dawson - were seen on TV in the 1970s and '80s.
Barraclough's TV appearances also included Last Tango in Halifax, Last of the Summer Wine and Casualty, with stage work including Death of a Salesman. Barraclough first appeared as Alec Gilroy on Coronation Street in the early 1970s as the agent for then-nightclub singer Rita Littlewood, now known as Rita Tanner. He joined the soap permanently in 1986, his character marrying Bet Lynch - played by Julie Goodyear - and the pair running the Rovers Return. Barraclough started his career as a comedian and pianist at an Isle of Wight holiday camp before joining the Huddersfield Repertory Company and then Oldham's Coliseum Theatre company. His partnership with Les Dawson began in the late 1960s. Dawson's daughter Charlotte tweeted that she was "devastated" at the news of his death, adding: "At least you get to be reunited with my daddy." Barraclough made his debut on the Corrie cobbles in 1964 as a tour guide, with other minor appearances including a stint as a bed salesman, before he landed the role of Alec Gilroy. Barraclough was awarded the MBE for services to drama and charity, and had been the patron of Willow Wood Hospice in Greater Manchester for more than 20 years. He died at the hospice following his illness.

Former Austrian vice-chancellor and foreign minister from 1987 to 1995, Alois Mock, died aged 82. One of the highlights of his political career was when Austria joined the EU in 1995. Mock also gained some international fame when cutting through a wire of the Iron Curtain that marked the border between East and West, Hungary and Austria. He was forced to retire in 1999 due to Parkinson.
