As was mentioned on here a good while ago(probably by me) the traditional striptease that we remember is a girl, probably in a nightclub or stage setting, slowly stripping off to the hottest jazz(not rock or that 70s psychedelic crap) track available(and not just your usual The Stripper soundtrack) and perhaps going all the way. Traditional in the sense that the girl starts off fully clothed in sexy stuff and then reveals stockings, suspenders etc but doesn't always remove her shoes. That to me is traditional but it might be different to other countries who had their own methods. As long as we keep to general posts like that and not take it into the more modern stuff I believe this thread will survive. Of course that is just my opinion, you don't have to agree with it.

Good evening everyone! Interesting recent words...I'm absorbing them all as the originator of this here thread (quite a few years ago now and referred to in Stroking_it's recent post).
I think it's healthy that there's interest and posting activity. This 'purism' debate has been a recurrent theme throughout the history of the thread, often with words from some who are now silent in this field and have 'moved on' (although since I started writing this, some 'old' voices have been fantastically re-appearing on the scene!!!)
The world of striptease feels as old as the hills on this forum and as an art-form has gone through many guises. I'll be bold and lock myself into the world view expressed by Stroking_it (and subsequently by Greenman and ecdysiastic)....my 'thing', my 'ultimate 3 minute song' is from an era of glamorous, teasing, theatricality, full of sparkle, classic saucy lingerie, gown and gloves, roleplay....and something that ideally steps beyond the world of burlesque into a jaw-dropping nude phase, however fleeting that may be.
The simple fact is that world of 'naughty burlesque' is a very rare one, a world where 'top shelf' nudity on stage can still be a fabulous tease and keep the audience panting!
Ironically, Rampensau1's very recent 'Queen of the Blues' clips are (for me at least) a great example of this glamorous tease. It ticks so many boxes for me, but the film also highlights issues of live striptease- even then, it was descending into sleaziness, where gorgeous glamour struggled to be maintained commercially.
I'll always be a purist folks- lack of 'foreplay' in a performance, so prevalent in today's world, is like taking the 'tease' out of 'striptease' for me. I want ultimately to see some heart-thumping naughtiness, but I want to be slowly tortured on the journey there...the 'delicious agony' as friends have often described. I love glamour, glamour that's timeless- surely so many of us consistently come back to stockings, suspenders, killer heels, sparkle, chiffon, feathers and silkiness for a reason. I would have loved to have posted many of my striptease fantasy creations on this thread to keep that particular heartbeat going, but 'realtime' material is so rare, I've had to turn to fantasy over at Striptease Heaven to keep visually exploring my obsession.....'nice' girl turns 'naughty' via the art of striptease....and simply MUST be as glamorous as possible! For those unaware of this world, try it out....I've put my heart and soul into it for ages! There's contemporary glamour girls who become much naughtier as strippers...and there's also scenarios from history (Hill's Angels for example) that have progressed to a 'what if' alternative universe!

So, keep the posts coming I say....I STILL believe there are hidden gems lurking out there somewhere. It's that belief that keeps me going.

Here's a little re-cap for you to hopefully thoroughly enjoy! I'm aware that posts and links come and go in this day and age...and items that were treasures at one stage disappear from view and somehow fade from the front line. Such is the running gauntlet of some uploading sites in this shifting world. I would say my own hard drive often suffers from disappearing acts!
Anyway, it's time for me to post a series of stripteases captured on film that have left quite a mark in my own imagination. One or two of them may still be available on VEF in various places, but I'm thinking that it's maybe not a bad thing that fresh copies are made available (to avoid that disappearing act!) this has also given me a chance to upload slightly improved quality of some items.

To start with, a scene I regard as the greatest ever striptease- the legendary Rita Hayworth performing as Gilda in 1946: -

Rita is utterly utterly ravishing and such an incredible temptress. This has been such an influence since and of all the various re-enactments, I'd single out Patsy Kensit's performance in Beltenebros...so it's also in there!

The jaw-droppingly naughty Kylie Minogue riding her horse in her black stockings and suspenders for Agent Provocateur (not strictly a striptease as such, but it is in my imagination!)
