Lame songs with great guitar solos

Back in the 1990s (iirc) one of the major guitar magazines had a reader poll asking readers to name the lamest songs with the greatest guitar solos.

The idea being that the solo itself might not be among the world's greatest, but that the solo was so good it seemed out of place in the context of whatever song it was is.

I nominated Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty and every Journey song.

Glam rockers Mud did a lame cover of "Cut Across Shorty" - ouch!

But the solo, played on acoustic guitar by Rob Davis, is excellent. Rob is a fine player and writer, penning "Can't Get You Out of My Head" for Kylie.

Nice idea for a muso thread yffudcm.

Got me thinking.

How about a great song with a lame solo? Like "Master of Puppets" by Metallica. Great hard rocking tune that has a solo so cheesy, you could spread it on a cracker.
