While I'm all against trucks filling quiet country lanes with tons of crap in the middle of the night, this really is going too far.

What must have crossed the minds of a few individuals are opportunities for revenge or harassment by having a look through the waste bin of someone they don't like when nobody is looking. Then, they could plant anything they find with a clear address in dumped rubbish somewhere suitable. I'm sure this idea will have crossed the minds of a few devious individuals by now.

As for the council staff, they should at the very least be named and shamed for being way too over-zealous and perhaps rather thick.

Mexicans have been putting holes in their gas lines repeatedly to steal gas - supposedly 20% of the fuel produced is stolen in such ways.

The people line up to cart it off. In the latest incident, it went up in flames and 94 are dead at the last count.

Former Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond has been arrested by police.

Police Scotland confirmed that a 64-year-old man had been charged and said a report would be sent to prosecutors.

It is not yet known what Mr Salmond has been charged with. Police had been investigating following a Scottish government inquiry into complaints of sexual harassment, which he denies.

Mr Salmond, who was first minister from 2007 to 2014, could appear in court later on Thursday.

The news comes two weeks since Mr Salmond was at the Court of Session in Edinburgh, where the Scottish government conceded that its internal investigation of the complaints against him was flawed.

[EDIT] According to the BBC, Alex Salmond has appeared in court charged with attempted rape and sexual assault.

A 27 year old resident - with his mother, sister and 16 year old brother - were home when a 26 year old man attempted to break in. https://nypost.com/2019/01/21/new-yo...home-invaders/ After forcing the intruder from the home, the 27 year old resident killed the intruder by clubbing and stabbing him. The intruder was a suspect in a shooting 10 days earlier.

Now the resident is being charged with manslaughter. Apparently New York has a law about retreating when it is safe to do so. It doesn't say how far away from the home the final fight was or what weapons the intruder had. The residents are Black, I can't find a picture of the intruder. I can't see this guy being convicted of defending his mother and family.

He got arrested a year and a half after the "crime"?
