Interesting stereotype you have there, I'm a conservative who didnt vote for trump and dont support him 100% or blindly. Dont give 2 shits about what any congressman or senator looks like, I'm country first over party and yes rain is wet. Reading various comments from all shades of the political spectrum, combined with the results of many election cycles has me seriously questioning the concept of universal suffrage. I am now convinced that at least half the current electorate is too frickin' ignorant or stupid too be weighing in on the qualifications of candidates.

They are not alone. Many of our elected officials and talking heads have demonstrated that they are unfamiliar with our Constitution and more than two centuries of court rulings.

It is important to know that the drafters of our Constitution believed that the state legislatures would continue to limit the voting franchise and that they provided for election of senators by those state legislatures for good reason. Since several of the drafters were notorious crooks, it was known when the constitution was adopted that the corruption in the state legislatures would naturally seep into the federal government.

Well, both sides have their Kool-Aid, that's for sure. And both sides tend to put pretty good spin on stuff.

However, I can't believe anyone could look objectively at the facts of our lovely president's life and even support him 1%. He's a con man and a pathological liar. 100%. Last I checked his presidential Lie count was like 4000. That's like 10 a day...I'd imagine, Dropped, that you wouldn't want to do much research into things that make your guy look bad. Can't blame you. But your guy is a crook...sorry there's a better way to say it: OUR president is a crook, and should be impeached.

I realize we are all tribal. That's humanity. Had Obama done even one of the thousand questionable things that the Donald has done, conservatives would have been howling. He's your tribe, thus you're willing to overlook stuff.

Trump dismisses North Korean tests of 'some small weapons'

US President Donald Trump has dismissed concerns about recent North Korean missile tests, appearing to contradict his own national security adviser.

In a tweet issued shortly after his arrival in Japan on Sunday, Mr Trump called the missiles "small weapons".

US National Security Adviser John Bolton said on Saturday that the tests violated UN resolutions on North Korea.

President Trump began a state visit to Japan on Sunday by teeing off a round of golf with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

Mr Trump wrote: "North Korea fired off some small weapons, which disturbed some of my people, and others, but not me." He added: "I have confidence that Chairman Kim will keep his promise to me."

Not for the first time, his tweet appeared to put him at odds with Mr Bolton, and also with his host nation. Mr Abe last week called the North Korean tests "extremely regrettable".

Mr Bolton and Mr Abe both accused North Korea of violating UN resolutions.

The contrast between the president and his national security adviser followed other recent divergences on foreign policy, including how to approach the crisis in Venezuela and US relations with Iran.

Trump approves $8bn Saudi weapons sale over Iran tensions

US President Donald Trump is approving the sale of billions of dollars' worth of weapons to Saudi Arabia, citing Iranian threats to its arch rival.

Mr Trump invoked a rarely used aspect of federal law to push through the $8bn (£6bn) deal - bypassing Congress.

He did so by declaring that ongoing tensions with Iran amounted to a national emergency.

The move has angered those who fear the weapons may be used against civilians in Yemen by Saudi-led forces.

Some Democrats accused the president of bypassing Congress because the sale of weapons - including precision-guided bombs - would have been strongly opposed on Capitol Hill.

Weapons will also reportedly be sold to the United Arab Emirates and Jordan.

Members of Congress have heavily criticised Saudi Arabia's human rights record over its role in the Yemen conflict and for the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Istanbul last October.

US judge blocks funds for Trump border wall plan

A US federal judge has temporarily blocked the use of defence department funds to build a border wall between the US and Mexico.

The judge granted the injunction to block the use of $1bn (£786m) in Arizona and Texas because it had not been approved by Congress.

President Donald Trump declared an emergency earlier this year, saying he needed $6.7bn to build the wall as a matter of national security.

It was a major campaign promise.

About 20 states, along with groups including the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), have filed lawsuits to try to stop the president using the emergency declaration to bypass Congress.

Charlie is right. Obama is as pure as the driven snow in comparison to Putins Little Helper. My sense is that Obama ran one of the cleanest Administrations in a hundred years. But I've not fact checked that.

I'm not "salivating" for another Watergate. Watergate was a national disgrace, and it's horrible for the country to have to go through impeachment proceedings. If only it was only a blow job. If trump has nothing to hide, then why is he howling about releasing his taxes? Or anything? If the report exonerates him, then why not release it fully? And the report is just one of dozens of things that are red flags...

I have felt this way for decades. On an almost daily basis I watch the way my fellow drivers operate their motor vehicles and realize those idiots' votes count just as much as mine does. The biggest problem with our nation is the fact that we give out rights to everyone without regard to their ability to responsibly and intelligently exercise those rights. Not just voting rights but that certainly is included.

Honestly, after reading forums like these and seeing a sampling of input from people outside the US as well, I don't think the problem is confined only to our borders. We haven't cornered the market on stupidity.
