Any Idea How This Has Been Done?
I just checked the rules for this section and it seems to be ok to post this since it's about creating movies/pictures. If you think I got it wrong, Mods please kill this thread.
I had found this very nice GIF lately: It's hard to imagine every single frame was hand-drawn and then assembled. The whole dynamic it just too brilliant. Well, I might be wrong. If anyone has an idea how this has been done, your help is greatly appreciated.

Drawn
That was ALL drawn. Remember entire Disney films were drawn before computers were used. How long is this? One second? Two perhaps?

Thank you howerd. Let's say it's two seconds, those are about 50 single drawings/frames then, yes?
Amazing work.

86 drawings. Consecutively (!!) drawn. Rough sketched style. In mind that in the end it all perfectly matches without any (noticeable) judders. That's what made me post my question. Made me think there was some software included. Christ this is awesome skills and work!

If I recall correctly from some animation doc, they use tracing paper for each sketch so that they can get the size and position accurately drawn in each frame. bit like with one of those flick books those on a much smarter scale and with a proper skilled artist.

computer generated fellas
Old hand painted Disney cells go for hundreds of dollars these days, because of just that.......they were all painstakingly hand painted. Today's Disney animations are not though, yet still maintain at least most of that "look". Saying that something is "computer generated", though, doesn't mean that there wasn't alot of effort and skill involved, OR..... work done by hand on the computer itself with mouses specifically created to emulate pens, brushes, etc etc. A friend of mine is a graphic artist, and his computer is basically his canvas and palate. I've tried fooling around with those weird mouses of his.....and I'm hear to tell ya lol.....it takes some skill to make something like that on a computer, a piece of paper, or whatever! lol |
