"Hair Of The Dog" has to be one of the most popular hard rock / heavy metal cover songs.
Led Zeppelin was the first band I ever heard playing it, but they did not originate it. In the era of hair metal / glam metal, Guns N' Roses and Britny Fox covered it, and it sounds good enough from both bands that I still have it on my iTunes. "Ain't no messin' with a / A son of a bitch!!!!!!" |

Dreams (I'll Never See)
Original edition by The Allman Brothers Band found HERE.
Cover version by Molly Hatchet found HERE. The cover has a vastly different tempo. The original blues edition was adapted and enlivened into a rhythm 'n' blues version.

Hard to believe you could possibly improve upon the Archies version of Sugar, Sugar ()but Wilson Pickett manages to do it.

Crossovers
Can I possibly put in a word for every band, with aspirations to musical greatness or not (maybe they just wanted a disc that would get played on the radio in their home town), which recorded a version of "Big Boss Man"?
This record has been recorded by any number of known acts. I find it intriguing as how they approached the song, and chose to record it. {I would dare admit to trying to foray this song at somebody's karaoke night}.
