I would try Image Grabber II [Google it]. I have been using it for years and have found it to be the best one for me.

FYI, the non .Net version works fine with Win 10.

positive and better than scenegrabber - it uses the filename without suffix as text replacement

. i have to use it more intense to compare the video format compatibility if a movie lacks in keyframes.

sadly the most important point for me is to gain an output image of always same size, so no matter how much movies with different aspect ratio you add to the batch, the resulting preview image should be 1920 x 1080 for all of them. it's kind of a pedantic requirement, but that's how i would like to have those images for my own archive. it simply doesn't look smooth if you browse over multiple different preview images and each image has a different size. just imagine sheets with model profiles would be different in width or height, that would be really annoying to browse.

made an extreme batch testing now after figuring out how to gain a fixed image size ("autofit tiles" has to be off, instead of on.). works nice

not so nice:
batch process not working in background, and you can't stop a running batch process once you've started it without using taskmanager and quit taskengine and imagegrabber processes by hand. also, it's not as quick as scenegrabber and you can't define default input/output folders. (at least not the "old" 64bit version, the newest version doesn't work on win7)

anyhow, and that's what counts, i have what i want

Is there a way I can upload small .mov files on VEF without having to install special software to do so?

Attachments are disabled at VEF. In order to post these files, you need to upload them to a filehost which does not require any special software. You could then post the link to the file that you uploaded in a post.

Thanks Jenny48549 but the files are ones I've made & are on my HD so is there an easy way to upload them like my own scans? There doesn't seem to be. Is there?

We do not have a forum plugin that will allow you to upload to a filehost. You must go to a filehost site. They work basically the same as the plugin for Pimp&Host that you use here. You click on upload file and it will allow you to browse to the file on your computer that you wish to upload. Once the file finishes uploading, a link will be generated that you can use in your post.
