Watched anything good on TV lately? - Page 132

I'm cheating because I'm actually watching it on blu ray. Utopia series 1 is the best British drama since the first Prime Suspect. Series 2 was poor bar the first episode.

Judge Rinder - I started watching this a few months ago

and its actually really good , like Judge Judy , but British
and some of the cases are fascinating --

The Accused: An Inside Job ?

I watched today this Documentary Film , from Channel 5 .
The documentary gives viewers a rare opportunity to follow defendant, Lukasz, in the lead up to his trial.
It features police interviews and footage from the lawyers working on the case – including clips of them out on the road exploring evidence.
There is also the reaction from the defendant and his legal team after court.
Lukasz younger brother Kasper also appears in the show, revealing the emotional impact something like this has on a family.
The insight into the case offers viewers a unique chance to weigh up the evidence for themselves, as if they were in the jury.
It was frankly , fascinating .

Binge-watching Haven and keeping up with The Mist.

With Stephen King adaptations, you never know what you'll get. The Mist is slow in getting to the point, yet it seems to be hurrying through the whole degradation-of-the-townsfolk arc, as the mist rolls in. Not nearly enough creature moments yet...mostly character development.
I missed Haven the first time through. It's a cop show with psychic powered bad guys. Not too bad.

Mary Beard's Meet The Romans.
What a wonderful, erudite woman. I'd love to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon ensconced with her in a cosy Cambridge library, discussing all things Ancient Roman over tea and scones.

Only Connect with Victoria Coren-Mitchell. A very difficult game for intellectual, clever people but sometimes I do get some right, same goes for University Challenge.

I like Nadiya Hussain, the winner of The Great British Bake Off 2015 and now heads her own show about British cooking on Monday nights BBC2 8.30pm and co-host of the The Big Family Cooking Showdown that started last night on BBC2. Delightful, funny and a great cook she is a tv natural even if we will never get to see what her hair is like as she wears a turban-like scarf.
