It's a trip.

In my twenties I was a HUGE beer snob. IPA, Craft, Stouts, Porters, Russian Imperial's etc.

In my late 30's now, I have become, for lack of a better word, seasonal. Guiness and other Stouts/Porters in the winter, IPA in spring/fall, Modelo/Corona/Pacifico (Pilsners/Lagers) in summer. Hell, I'm not even drinking beer lately, I went to the Mikes Harder/Hard Seltzers atm..

Back in the early 1990s for maybe a year, a local wine store carried a heavily hopped beer called "Alimony Ale" with the subtitle "the bitterest beer in America". It was quite good -- humor on labels isn't always a good indication, --, but I unfortunately haven't seen it in stores since. An internet search tells me that the brewer originally made it for a friend who was going through a very nasty divorce. (Also, the brewery apparently now franchises it, not a good omen.)
