Default Adult Life Skills (2016)

starring Jodie Whittaker as a 29 year old woman having a bit of a
reality check about turning 30. that's probably the simplest way to
describe the plot. anyway, she's beautiful and I enjoyed the movie.

La guerre est finie (1966)

Trailer

The communist veteran Diego Mora (Yves Montand) is a professional revolutionary who has dedicated his life to the struggle against the Spanish dictator Franco while living in exile in Paris. Many of his comrades have been arrested and killed by the Franco regime and Diego himself is growing tired of his revolutionary life, especially of the frequent trips to Spain in which he serves as a messenger between Communist Party members in Spain and their comrades in exile. Diego's real identity is unknown to the authorities and he uses the passport of a friend when travelling to Spain. But he is already under suspicion and may become a problem for the communist underground on both sides of the border.

Montand came back from his "communist years" in the 70's. He , at least...., learned about Staline good job.

Kenneth Branagh's version of Hamlet. One of the great Shakespearian actors in Bill's greatest play. A winning combo.

Red face Haven't mentioned De Nero as don't wish to insult him

I like a good two player movie , me
Gawd but this isn't it

Travolta is a Serbian soldier out for revenge only the most dangerous thing about him is the swaying accent. Not kidding at one point I thought he was going to sing out "Oooooh Saaandy"
We`re talking about an accent that`s part Transylvanian , part German , part Scottish part speech impediment and kinda Brooklyn
Blast I've accidentally peaked your interest now and you might actually bleeding well want to watch it
Don't ! , unless you fancy a comedy
I`m half way through the thing and geez ,Travolta is displaying all the hunting guile of a blunt pencil.

In fact to have saved reviewing matters it`d have been simpler to say he`s about as convincing in the role as his beard

The Visitor (1979)

Trailer

An ancient intergalactic warrior using the name Jerzy Colsowicz (John Huston) joins forces with "Space Jesus" (Franco Nero) in order to fight the evil powers of "Sateen" that were passed on to a little girl called Katy Collins (Paige Conner). Her mother Barbara (Joanne Nail) is a unique woman because her womb possesses the power to spread Sateen's cosmic force. Her boyfriend Raymond Armstead (Lance Henriksen) and a group of shady bastards led by Dr. Walker (Mel Ferrer) are aware of Barbara's uniqueness and wish to take possession of the powers manifested in her children. Jerzy Colsowicz has to stop them and purge Barbara and Katy of Sateen's evil seed.

The Visitor (also known as Stridulum) is a bizarre Italian horror movie. It doesn't have the most linear plot and looks like an imitation of various well-known horror flicks with a drunk Alejandro Jodorowsky in the director's chair. And there's its cast. Someone here had some very important friends in Hollywood. How else could a production with a budget of $800.000 hire some Hollywood hot shots like John Huston, Mel Ferrer, Shelley Winters, Glenn Ford, Lance Henriksen and Sam Peckinpah? It's not a bad movie and has both its ups and downs. The music isn't bad either, being very giallo-esque. There is a particularly cool track that is repeatedly played, mostly in John Huston's scenes.

THE PROMISE

A love triangle develops between a medical student named Mikael (Oscar Isaac),an American reporter for the Associated Press, Chris Myers (Christian Bale) and Ana(Charlotte Le Bon), an Armenian woman raised in Paris before and during The Armenian genocide in 1915 which was the systematic extermination of 1.5 million Armenians

Strong performances by the entire cast helps the film get around the hurdles of some clunky dialogue in the film's screenplay.I did feel the film was a bit manipulative as the genocide plays out on the big screen and the characters are constantly in peril.
This film is not perfect by any means but most of it i found powerful and it was an eye opening history lesson for me,and i believe it deserves to be seen on the big screen

Scale of 1-10 an 8

FREE FIRE

A gun deals go bad between buyers and sellers in the shoot em up Free Fire.
The film plays out more as a comedy than a drama as the individual personalities ,insult each other in salty ways, and a world is to small moment leads to an epic gun battle in the warehouse in which they converged.

The action is jumbled at times, and at times i couldnt tell who was shooting who and how on earth some avoided not being instantly killed. The cast which includes: Brie Larson,Sharlto Copley,Armie Hammer,Cillian Murphy,Jack Reynor,Babou Ceesay,Enzo Cilenti,Sam Riley,Michael Smiley and Noah Taylor are all on point and look like they are having a good time for the most part

The film starts to become a bit repetitive and i honestly didnt really care about the fate of the characters but this was still a fun action romp.

Scale of 1-10 a 7½

Unforgettable

Im shocked boring, uneventful shlock like this still makes it into a movie theatre. This clunker should have went straight to DVD or Netflix.Katherine Heigl and Rosario Dawson look stunning in the film and do their best with the beyond weak script.
Sure flicks like this are supposed to be trashy with epic showdowns between still obssesed ex's and such but thats' not even fleshed out or provided.
Cheryl Ladd has a good small turn as Heigl's cold mother.
Avoid this drivel at all costs !!!!!!!!

Scale of 1-10 a 2

This is one of my movies that I saw last night. The 1982 production of First Blood or Rambo 1. Starring Sylvester Stallone, Brian Dennehy, Richard Crenna, others. Stallone stars as John Rambo former Green Beret and winner of the Congressional Medal Of Honor for the three years he spent in Vietnam as part of a special platoon of hired killers behind enemy lines. He was a prisoner of war during some months of his tour. Now 8 years later he is just a man trying to make it in a world that does not understand or want him. The film opens with Rambo looking for a former member of his platoon in British Columbia and finding out that he died of cancer some years before. Then he is seen walking through the small town of Hope, and the police chief played by actor Brian Dennehy offers to drive him to the edge of town and says to Rambo that he and his town don't like guys like you. He thinks Rambo is a drifter, a vagrant. Rambo resists and starts walking back to the town to try to get something to eat , but is arrested by Dennehy, and his men mishandle him at the police station. He escapes, steals a motorcycle and heads into the woods followed by all of Dennehy's men and police helocopters. Soon the whole town is out to get him, but his superior training as a Vietnam super soldier allows him to escape and then he practically destroys the whole town until Dennehy gives up. When this movie first came out many critics did not like it, but now it has become a worldwide cult classic. It is a great action film and the first and best of the three Rambo films.

Der Philosoph (1989)

Trailer

Georg Hermes (Johannes Herrschmann) is a philosopher who just published his book. He lives alone and isolated since his mother's death and all he does is reading books. Other than that, he's pretty useless. Since his book "Love for Wisdom" was just published, Georg is scheduled to promote his work in a lecture. For this he's going to need a new suit, so he walks into a store run by three sisters. He finds a suit he likes but can't afford it, so he borrows it. The sisters are present at his lecture and they become friends. One of the sisters, Franziska (Adriana Altaras), and Georg falls in love and she asks him to move into her and her sisters' fancy apartment. Our philosopher hesitates a little but eventually agrees and before he knows it, he finds himself showered with gifts and affection. The sisters do everything for him, from buying a computer to cooking and each of them seems to have the hots for him, too.

I was laughing through the entire movie. Not because it was funny. It's just peculiarly ridiculous. Fortunately it took only 83 minutes of my time.
