Umberto D. (1952)

Trailer

Umberto Domenico Ferrari (Carlo Battisti), a retired government worker, participates in a street demonstration held by elderly gentlemen who demand a raise in their meager pensions but the demonstration is dispersed by the police. He returns to his poorly furnished room where he finds a couple making love in his bed. Umberto's tyrannical landlady Antonia (Lina Gennari) rents out the rooms to prostitutes during the day and threatens Umberto with eviction if he doesn't pay his overdue rent (15.000 Lire). Forced to sell some of his belongings, he only manages to raise a third of the amount but the landlady refuses to accept it and demands either all or nothing. Having only his dog Flike and the pregnant housemaid Maria (Maria-Pia Casilio) as friends, Umberto is determined to retain his dignity.

One of the greatest examples of Italian neorealism. Umberto D. remains a realistic and timeless masterpiece, totally free of sentimentality and reflects the general mood in Europe after World War II.

"Zombie Ass: Toilet Of The Dead"- Japan 2011

"Wracked with guilt over the suicide of her bullied sister, young karate student Megumi accompanies four older friends on a trip into the woods: smart girl Aya, her druggie boyfriend Také, full-figured model Maki, and nerdy Naoi.

Things start to go badly when Maki finds a parasitical worm inside a fish - and wolfs it down, in the hope that it will keep her skinny. Her stomach later feels horrible and she relieves herself in an outhouse. The parasitic worm she ate had apparently laid eggs in her stomach and came out of in her diarrhea attack.

Soon after, they are attacked by a crowd of poop-covered undead who emerge from the outhouse toilet Maki used. The group seeks refuge in the home of the strange Dr. Tanaka, who conducts experiments on the zombies and the parasites ... and who has another fate in mind for the five strangers.

Can Megumi's karate help them escape, or will she have to rely on the liberating power of flatulence to defeat her demented captor?"

Yes, this is not just a zombie movie, this is an alien ass parasite zombie movie designed purely to allow Iguchi to indulge in his love of the female posterior. Juvenile in the extreme the film is driven by ultra-lowbrow sight gags and splatter effects - both practical and CGI - laced with a helping of shit and fart jokes. And give Iguchi credit for this much, at least: As basic as his fixations may be he presents them with an absolutely bizarre sense of ambition that sees the film climax in a massive methane fueled aerial battle between its bare-breasted teenage protagonist and an enormous anal worm queen.

While Karate Robo Zaborgar showed that Iguchi is more than capable of bringing his particular brand of madness to the masses when he so desires Zombie Ass is very much a film made for the hardcore fans. Simultaneously as silly and disgusting as it can possibly be Zombie Ass is one for those who have never stopped finding farts funny even as they've grown enough to develop a fondness for a bit of T&A.
Good lord

The Fury (1978) - directed by Brian De Palma, starring Kurt Douglas and Amy Irving.

On imdb its listed as horror/sci-fi, but felt more like a thriller with moderate bits of sci-fi. I found this movie a bit frustrating; some parts worked and some didn't plus they should have cut down the runtime by 15 minutes to help with the pacing. They should have called this Carrie 2.0 since its directed by the same guy and seems like an extension of the prior movie. British actress Fiona Lewis looked real good, wish she had more scenes.

Rating = 4 out of 10

ALIEN COVENANT
*NO Spoilers*

If your into the Alien franchise then I guess you might like this, same for all Sci-Fi fans I might add. Visuals and environmental presence very impressive but thats it.

The Alien franchise is getting tired. The creature, of course, is great as always in design and execution on the screen but its the ideas for making a movie with the character, a let down since Aliens.
IMO, this wonderful concept of Aliens has gotten convoluted over the years.
Alien / Aliens had a different feel but they were original, exciting & I recall audience reactions on both making the experience that more memorable. So apart from pretty visuals on the big screen there isn't anything memorable or original for me....shame.
