The incel phenomenon

After the van attack in Toronto, there has been a lot of online talk about sexually frustrated men who have the potential for violence. It appears there are entire online communities composed of this sort who call themselves "incels", shorthand for "involuntarily celibate".

I decided to do a little digging and the first thing that popped up when googling for "incel forums" was this:

incels.me

I read some of the threads there, and - Good God!

Some of the "men" there make the 40 year old virgin look like Hugh Hefner.

How does a male of the species allow himself to fall into such a state?

I don't know if any of these people visit VEF or any of the plethora of other excellent porn sites available these days but it doesn't seem to be doing them any good, if they are.

I can't wrap my head around it. If you are sexually frustrated, hire a hooker, fuck an ugly fat girl who is desperate, but this?

It just seems very unhealthy, sickening, in fact.

I'm curious as to what other VEF members have to say about this phenomenon.

I've always believed that down deep a lot of men are to some degree misogynistic and have a sense of entitlement towards women, especially when they're younger. I've seen it many times for myself. I think the incel thing is just an outgrowth of that and the internet gives them a voice they wouldn't had in an earlier time. On another forum I'm a member of, someone has suggested that the #metoo movement is actually a conspiracy against men.
The only upside is, that a lot of these guys will never have kids.

^ I guess all I can say is, thank God for Darwinism.

I suppose we have more of this sort around today because:

1) So much of our best male genetic material has been extinguished in wars, particularly the massive wars of the 20th century in which chance as much as strength decided who would survive, and,

2) Life has gotten soft enough that more of the feebler sorts have been able to reproduce, when in former times nature would have deleted them and their seed from the genetic database under harsh circumstance.

so its creators can earn money

The anonymity of the net means you'll get a lot of ridiculous statements / posts that would never be said in public out loud.

So I am watching this week's episode of Law & Order Special Victims Unit (SVU).

The SVU squad is looking for a rapist who may be an Incel.

I have never heard of the word Incel so I GOOGLE it.

I looked up a bunch of this stuff for kicks awhile ago when I made this thread. It's a VERY weird internet subculture.

If it's on a major TV show, I guess it is going mainstream.

I wonder if perhaps the #MeToo/feminist crowd is starting to shine a spotlight on these pasty toadstool guys in order to further demonize men?

Women must definitely be more on edge these days with all of the sexual assault/molestation/rape stuff being shouted from all the media outlets.

I just saw an article where some woman called 911 on some poor black kid who accidentally brushed her ass with his backpack. She accused him of sexually assaulting her, and the poor kid was crying, thought the cops were going to throw his ass in jail. I mean, WTF? This stuff can go too far.

I have heard about the dark web for years.

No idea how to even get on the dark web.
