having just checked out the BBC website's sport section. I was surprised to find out that Newcastle have lost their last ten fixtures that have been played on a Monday.
When you add this to the fact that we've only won once this season after conceding the first goal if you are the superstitious type. It makes you wonder if there is a curse on Newcastle.
Ipswich might just off a surprise result against us today

Me and thousands of other United supporters shared your surprise. But it's understandable, our best chance of Champions league football next season is to win Europe's answer to the 'Carling Cup' and we have a big game on Thursday, so resting Ibrahimovic and Mkhitaryan made sense.

I'm quite pleased at my uncanny accuracy in predicting United's results this season, I had us down to lose 1-3 against Chelsea.

Championship leaders Brighton are on the brink of promotion to the Premier League after beating relegation-threatened Wigan 2-1 at the Amex Stadium.

If third-placed Huddersfield do not win at Derby (17:00 BST kick-off) then the Seagulls will return to the top flight for the first time in 34 years.

Even if the Terriers do win at Pride Park, they will have to make up a huge goal difference to prevent Brighton going up and hope the south coast side lose their remaining three games.

Well done to Brighton & Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton....

The bottom of the Championship is interesting. 2 teams, Rotherham and Wigan are basically down and so there is one spot left. There are now 5 teams who could realistically fill that spot. Blackburn, Forest, Birmingham, Burton and Bristol City. Blackburn are the one most in danger as they currently occupy that 3rd relegation spot but Forest are only a point in front, Birmingham 3 points and the others 4 points with 3 games left to play. Its all to play for and having a look at the fixtures most of those 5 teams are not going to get a lot of points from those 3 games. So if one of those sides can pull out a win they will more than likely be safe. Especially if its anyone other than Blackburn.

At the other end the play offs still hold interest with Leeds losing today and dropping out of the top 6. However only 2 points separate Leeds, Fulham and Sheff Weds. So just as it is at the bottom these next 3 games will have huge consequences on post season and next season.

Breaking news also:

Gianfranco Zola has resigned as manager of Birmingham City.

Cheers Devius! - I've waited 34 years for this - supported 42 years through think and thin. We are, as you say, promoted.

No way Huddersfield can make up a 31 goal gap in four games even if they do win this evening.

Two fixtures still to come:
Terriers vs Cottagers
Owls vs Cottagers
So, still some hope for Leeds.

Leyton Orient and the miracle is still on, just need to win the three remaining games, while Hartlepool and Newport remain pointless.

Its rumoured Zola was having nightmares about a team in Claret & Blue and has resigned.

Seriously not sure if this is good or bad, given Birmingham are currently in a relegation dog fight and have a day trip to Villa Park on Sunday.

Bristol City play Birmingham last game of the season....could be interesting and pivotal.

So old 'Arry is back in work. Brum have appointed Harry Redknapp as manager less than 24 hours after Zola quit. Initially he will be in charge until the end of the season he says.
