Be even better if they remove the dead thumbnails / code from the forum.

Thats the one true downside to imagevenue - their FAQ says

The storage period of your images on our server is unlimited. However, if your image has not been accessed for more than 1 year, it will be deleted from our server.

Another good reason to offer a 2nd choice of imagehost then people wouldnt have to constantly go back to imagebam or what ever their alternative choice is

The other thing which isnt going to go away in all of this is the issue of ad-blockers

Deprive the free imagehosts of their only means of paying for the bandwidh usage and sooner rather than later there will be a price to be paid which might be worse than a hack which can be largely corrected.

I hope it is ok to wait some days maybe some pics will come back. If not, i will start to reupload the missing pics then. It is a shame because imagevenue was very reliable in the past. Some of my pics are (or were ) online for 7 or 8 years there.

Well this is quite a nuisance.

Once I cleaned up an image and posted it I deleted it from my own HD so unless it is very few select actresses ie Lee Remick, Cheryl Ladd there is no way for me to reupload images which have taken me some time to remove watermarks, text, dirt etc....

I never thought Imagevenue would have experienced such issues as there have been images stored on it since 2008 that were still very much alive. I would have preferred redundancy but the number of images I have posted would take forever.

Now it looks like a proverbial extinction event. Maybe in a couple of days they will have recovered some functionality but I wouldn't bet on it.

If IV is able to re-store backup they have pay attention to use non-infected version after being sure software is virus- and malware-free, too.

Means at time nobody at IV is able to predict any deadline.

If you go to the back of the oldest sections on VEF you'll find imagevenue + imagebam pics
and more than likely the occasional pimpandhost

Having used both imagebam & imagevenue since 2007 neither are 100% reliable for ever
but their the best that are about overall for things like lost content , outages etc

Read their FAQs & TOS and really you should never rely on them at all
as your only copy of anything

Yesterday prepared in own directory needed files for new s/caps to replace dead image links. Today run KMPlayer to made and start to upload & edit & replace image by image. (Work at own thread page by page.)

What a surprise 2 of 10 images left! Checking thread pages before there were a lot of images back!

Please check at this page there are now (time stamp) 9 images by imagevenue back (?)

Theres chatter on another forum that images are starting to reappear but not all of them

Given the scale of this incident its not going to correct itself quickly
I wouldnt have thought

I still say wait and see

If you cant wait then add a few images from a different host as i have in this post
and a duplicate gallery link

Even if IVs returns - 2 hosts are better than one for when the other one has its turn

Just checked (June 5, 2014) my more recent posts - looks like most thumbnails are up on the various subject pages, but the thumbs do not always open a valid file.
Hopefully things are progressing to correcting that.
