About duplicate pics ...

Hello, I've been an regular poster on other forum sites. I noticed that this website has a "search function" but this site, doesn't include an "image search" function, such as searching the entire site for matching image URLs or input, by clicking a "search button" that will upload a image file from your PC hard drive, then search for a match.

In case I post an new image, how would I know its not (potentially) duplicated here? If I inadvertently post a duplicate, will someone flag that post thereby penalizing me?

Will I have to first use Google image search for each and every post?
What is the best practice of the hard core users?

this is a good topic. Posters see their contributions vanish sometimes, not because it violated by-laws, but because it duplicates a prior post. The best way to circumnavigate that is by posting known new material.

I'm used to posting on sites that are much more liberal about what is posted, and what is allowed, so I will just have to earn my keep here ...

But first things first, I'll just have use what resources are available to reach the goal of being able to post to the Members request I.D. section. I have lots of bmps gifs and jpgs that I would love to have Identified that haven't yet been I.D.'d on those other sites as well ...

Not to mention that I have many other content waiting to be shared ....

There is a rules section, just have good faith that those rules exist and get enforced within the realm of maintaining joint harmony. I think the ID request section gets throttled and staff adjudicate the pool of requests as the rules dictate. I just look at it like this "don't go making ID requests unless it is something REALLY good and i can't reach the desired result without a little help" Personally, i limit myself to one ID request per month.

I believe that VEF has survived for over 10 years because it has some reasonable Rules, and every post is reviewed for compliance by a Moderator. While some new members may find this quite restrictive (compared to the wild-wild-west approach taken by other forums), it has served VEF well.

The VEF Forum Rules can be quite a lot to absorb in one sitting, and many new members are amazed to learn that each sub-section of the Forum has another set of unique rules. You have to look at the "sticky" threads that appear at the top of the main page for each sub-section. For instance . . . . here are the Model Identification Request section rules:

As far as duplicate images are concerned, I think you will find the rules to be most closely monitored in the Model threads. Unfortunately, some of them have dozens of pages, and it can take a long time to scroll through them to find out if your offering is more complete, or of better resolution than a post that already exists. Still, if you are truly interested in making a meaningful contribution to that particular thread (rather than just garnering "Thanks" to enhance your reputation), you will take the time to complete some due diligence.

When making posts to most threads in General Modern Topics, etc. (like the MILFS & Mature Ladies thread) just about anything goes. These threads are simply too big to scroll through, and many of the photo-sets already posted do not include the model's name (so a search will not produce results).

Ultimately, your posts will likely survive if you follow the rules, and make an effort to avoid duplicating images in the model threads.

Not all sections are red hot on duplication

Modern is the hottest on it due to the excessive level of posting going on
Too many posters have been known to repost the same posts across multiple threads

Classic dont encourage it but its pretty obvious they are nowhere near as hot on the issue

If you want to avoid having to think about duplication and other restrictions / rules you go to

Discussion & Talk Forum / funnies / miscellaneous fun threads

Just read the first post of any topic for any rules
