Vintage Music Ads
I realize that music threads have become rather common place here and some may feel that there are too many of them. Rather than beat a dead horse, I thought it might be interesting to share some poster quality ads I've gathered from old Billboard magazines. I realize that VEF is a porn forum, but I figured some of my friends here might enjoy these. Here are some examples...
In order to preserve image quality, I am posting this in PNG format. That way, you guys can modify and/or enlarge them to your heart's content. If there is any interest in this, I can post more. I'm a music nut, so please feel free to share any images you may have. By the way, if you want to print these out as large posters, there is an online utility which may be of assistance. Just google "block poster". Cheers!

For the sake of those with slower connection speeds, I will be posting these in jpeg format. If you would like the original PNG file, just let me know and I will be happy to provide it. Anyhoo, here's the next batch.
Left to right - Bee Gees, Slade, Quicksilver, Genesis, Janis Joplin I really like the Janis poster, so here it is again without text... Cheers!

First up are some non band related ads. They're pretty cool, nonetheless.
Now for the bands... Left to right - Herb Alpert, The Yardbirds, Dana Gillespie, Pink Floyd, The Grateful Dead Cheers!

These were printed in Rolling Stone and the Bay Area's 'Berkeley Barb'
the last is linda rondstadt apparently recalling her tryst with our then-and-present california governor, jerry brown. i believe jerry's the one on her left. not ads, per se, just the cover of one of my sister's old fan magazines, which i now own... and a kinda strange Elvis mask a young lady might ask her boyfriend to wear when...? I should probably clarify that although I'm posting ads, this is not a prerequisite for posting in this thread. To me, the really cool thing about music ads is that they have been, for the most part, thrown away and forgotten. The same goes for promotional material released by record labels. There are some real gems among the garbage and I think it's worthwhile to preserve and share them.
Feel free to post any images of your favorite bands. Posters, album art, promotional stuff, fan club stuff... whatever! Left to right - The Animals, Badfinger, Disco-Tex and His Sex-o-lettes, Dolly Parton, Jane Records Left to right - The Kinks, The Lovin' Spoonful, The Moody Blues, Olivia Newton John, Spooky Tooth Cheers!

Love this! I'm going to have to find a stash of old Rolling Stone mags one of these days.
The Bay Area is a great spot for music and has been for decades. I always felt that I was lucky to live there since practically every band and artist would wind up there sooner or later. Berkeley, San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Mountain View, Concord... there was always something going on.
