Just ran outside and looked at the thermometer in my garden 29 celsius at the moment, when I come to Oz I'll wear sunblock like a brick wall (and thanks for that comment on the book thread, I was hoping you would say that))

I did that a few years ago. Sun burn is very, very painful! I had to go to hospital it was that bad. And then spend four days in bed. Of course I blamed the missus for not waking me up. To this day I think she did that on purpose. LOL.

Default Formula One Grand Prix Racing

Just been intermittently watching the Turkish Grand Prix. It was so interesting that I found time to clean out my fridge: having a barbeque week after next for a number of friends and I quite like to avoid poisoning anyone

A genuine contest at Formula One level now is as rare as rocking horse manure. All the passing seems to happen in the pitts because they can hardly overtake on the track. Racing? Go Karts are a damn sight more competative. Yet the sport munches cash like there's no tomorrow and the BBC insists on promoting it as though it really were the best race series in the world, when it just isn't.

To quote Adam and the Ants: Ant Music-

It's so sad, when you're young,
To be told that you're having fun...

Seeing this smarmy faced plonker on TV news. He may be a world leader, have a famous wife and have lots of money but to me he has all the charisma of a soiled OAP's long-johns. He has a face that was made for slapping, it's the same sort of inane, full of himself, grin that Tony Blair developed over the years.

Is it just me or does he have a passing resemblance to

At this moment in time, I would have to say..Lesbian's. I mean real one's, over-weight, foul-mouthed, usually drinking pints to excess, clothes that only Andrea Dworkin would appreciate and attitudes to match.

I say this because Ms Sydney works with quite a few (unfortunately) in her profession and sometimes we get invited for a drink out in the pubs..I would rather stick needles in my eyes than have to endure another night in the pub looking at some of them thinking:"You scruffy cows", listening to them slag each other off and nearly ending up in a fight.

Oh, Students, I'm not too keen on them either.

Agreed - I know this was covered in the "Things Noticeable this week" thread (quick plug...), but the actions of Nicolas Sarkozy (and any other politicians involved) over yesterday's ceremony was nothing short of disgraceful. As Dick Bowen, a WW2 vet told the "Independent on Sunday" paper:
