Thanks for the help, but i won't bother. This seems to happen often to my posts (strangely enough when i post a huge amount of content) and yet in the same thread, nobody else gets that kind of treatment. So whoever was responsible, feel free to just ban me instead.

You will not find out why your posts were edited by asking a question like this in the help section. As stated, ask one of the section mods why the posts are being edited.

As far as you being banned, nobody at this forum is ever banned without a very good reason. I can tell you that if that was about to happen you would have been warned about it multiple times already.

How very odd. You wonder why a Mod has done something, then reply that you're not going to bother asking? You feel you're the victim of draconian measures, and suggest you should be given even more draconian measures instead?

My guess is that you've made a mistake, probably a minor one. If it was major, the Mod would delete the post altogether and/or issue an infraction.

The Mods don't (always) personally contact a member if their posts need editing. They just don't have the time. However, they're (usually) pretty good at replying to polite enquires.

You've posted some good content, don't throw it all away because you feel slighted. You're not the only one who's been Modded, I certainly have, and while I understand it can be frustrating, getting snippy won't solve anything.

You shouldn't worry too much. Everyone appreciate content being posted so I'm sure both the section mods and other members are happy with your contribution. My guess is that they saw this as a minor issue not even bothering sending you a pm. If it troubles you you should send a pm to the section mods and you'll get a friendly and helpful reply. They are here to help people. Not make life difficult for members or scare away contributors.

I'm not going to bother personal messaging whoever the mod was and ask. I thought it would be fine to ask here, obviously not. end of story.

99% of the time i post it's giving, not taking. I'm not throwing anything away, whoever deleted & edited the posts did that.

It was a series of 180x180 images configured to make an oversized banner. It was the same in both posts. I edited it out and that's all that was edited. No content was edited. There's a rule against by-passing the rules by alternative means to circumvent the rules. Click here for the rest of the general forum rules. What you essentially did was try to get around the 180x180 max image rule. You're not the first to try this, you won't be the last. And I will remove it every time if it occurs in my section.

It becomes very difficult to explain to some of the less experienced membesr who I send messages to explaining that oversized images aren't allowed and then they point to your posts and those that are "grandfathered." These members are still learning the rules. You have been here a few years and knew exactly what you were doing. That's exactly how I found your posts.

Normally, I don't bother sending a pm when it should be clear what happened. And it's a trivial, technical only, violation. No point in sending a message over something very minor. Because if I do send a message, I typically log it as a user note on your profile incase you go down this path again with any other moderator. That might not mean much to you because these "logged notes" that you sometimes might see referenced are invisible to you. But all moderators and staff can see them as if they are tattooed on your forehead. Today, I decided, as I have the discretion to do, to just edit your post and be done with the matter and hope you got the hint. Nobody else would've known that you did a bypass to the image size rule to put up a banner in two posts except those who saw it. Now, everybody knows. It's attention most members wouldn't want.

Editing your post wasn't anything personal. And I would have done the same to anybody else's post. And you're not going to be the last member that this happens to. I am the member who appears most in my own trash bin.

I'd rather you'd just pm us next time. There are 8 moderators in that section. You could make one message to half and forward the same to the rest. Not that difficult. The best suggestion I can make is to just let it go. Don't get too worked up over this. Forget it happened, but remember why it happened. Just be assured that editing and not send you a message is the least restrictive thing that can be done.

I'm not going to ban you, or anybody else, over something like this. If it's not private message worthy of an issue, it's definitely not ban worthy.
